PHILIPPIANS iv. 4-7.

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, rejoice.

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The

Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in

every thing by prayer and supplication with thanks-

giving let your requests be made known to God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all under-

standing, shall keep your hearts and minds through

Christ Jesus.

ROMANS xii. 16-21.

Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no

man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the

sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth

you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly be-

loved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place

unto wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is

mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore,

if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give
him drink for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of

fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but

overcome evil with good.
