THE oval in the centre is an engraving from an antient painting in the Herculaneum.

THE figures at the fides and bottom are explained in the Differtation at the end of this volume, which was written to vindicate to fome of the Author's learned friends the explication he ventured to give of that paffage in the book of Revelations which is the fubject of the Fifth Discourse.
