Eccle. viii. 1. A man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.

Eccle. vii. 12. Wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence; but the excellency of knowledge is, that wifdom giveth life to them that have it.

To the Love and
Study of Wisdom.

Wisdom is profitable to direct.

Prov. ii. 3. If thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

Ver. 4. If thou seekest her as filver, and searchest for her as for hid treafures; Ver. 5. Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of Gon.

Prov. iv. 13. Take fast hold of instruction, let her not go, keep her, for she is thy life.

Prop. viii. 17. I love them that love me, and those that feek me early shall find me.

Prov. xix. 20. Hear counsel, and receive inftruction, that thou mayest be wife in thy latter end. Hof. vi. 3. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD.

2 Chron. i. 11. And GOD faid to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not afked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet haft thou asked long life; but haft asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

Ver. 12. Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee: and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour.
