that other disciple which came first to the sepul. 9 ' chre, and he saw and believed. For as yet they

knew not the scripture, that he must rise again 10 from the dead. Then the disciples went away 11 again unto their own home. But Mary stood

without at the sepulchre, weeping: and as she

wept, she stooped down and looked into the se12 pulchre, and seeth two angels in white sitting,

the one at the head, and the other at the feet, 13 where the body of Jesus had lain : and they

say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? she aith unto them, Because they have taken away

my Lord, and I know not where they have 141 laid him. And when she had thus said, she

turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, 15 and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith

Junto her, Woman, why weepest thou? Whom Seekest thou ? she, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid

him, and I will take him away. 16 John Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned her

self, and saith unto him, Rabboni, which is to 17 say, Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me

hot, for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and

to my God and your God. 16

came by night, and stole him away while we 141

slept; and if this come to the governor's ears, 151

we will persuade him, and secure you. So
they took the money, and did as they were
taught; and this saying is commonly reported
among the Jews until this day.

And saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 361

Luke And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them,

And saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 37 Luke But iney were terrified, and affrighted, and 38

said unto them, Why are ye troubled, and why 39

do thoughts arise in your hearts ? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle ane and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and

took it, and did eat before them. 21 John Then said Jesus unto them again, Peace be un

to you: as my Father hath sent me, even so 22

send I you. And when he had said this, he

breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive 23 ye the Holy Ghost. Whose soever sins ye re.

mit, they are remitted unto them; and whose 241 soever sins ye retain, they are retained. But

l'homas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, 23 was not with them when Jesus came. The

other disciples therefore said unto him, We
have seen the Lord. But he said unto them,
Except I shall see in his hands the print of the
nails, and put my finger into the print of the
nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will
not believe.

are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God, and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Sect. 158. Jesus appears at the sea of Tiberias. 21 1 John Afterthese things Jesus shewed himself again to

the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this 2 wise shewed he himself. There were together

Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and

They went forth and entered into a ship im-

But when the morning was now come, Jesus
stood on the shore ; but the disciples knew not
that it was Jesus. Then Jesus saith unio them,
Children, have ye any meat? they answered
him, No. And he said unto them, Čast the net
on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find.
They cast therefore, and now they were not

(or things) which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be fula filled which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it

behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the 471
