COMMANDMENT FIFTH.

XCI. Duties of children towards parents. Exod. xx. 12. Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land. Deut. v. 16. Matt. xv. 4. Eph. vi. 2. Lev. xix. 3. Ye shall fear every man his mother and his father.

Prov. i. 8, 9. My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother. They shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

iii. 1, 2. My son, forget not my law, but let thy heart keep my commandments: for length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

DUTIES OF MASTERS.

XCV. Duties of masters towards servants. Lev. xix. 13. The wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning. See Deut. xxiv. 15. Jer. xxii. 13. Mal. iii. 5. Jam. v. 4. Luke x. 7.

in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman.

CIV. Perverting of judgment through drunkenness. Prov. xxxi. 4. It is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes strong drink, lest they drink and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. Isa. xxviii. 1. Woe to the drunkards of Ephraim. Ver. 3. They shall be trodden under foot.

Ver. 7. They have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way.
