3rd.-MINISTERS OF VENGEANCE.

Num. xxii, 22. 31. And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. (Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.) Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and

he saw the angel of the LORD sword drawn in his hand; and he standing in the way, and his bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.

2 Sam. xxiv, 16. And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said people, It is enough, stay now to the angel that destroyed the thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the thrashing-place of Araunab the Jebusite.

Rev. xv, 1. And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
