Originally published in three volumes from 1870 to 1884, J.A. Seiss's lectures on the Apocalypse were among the first popular works based upon the futurist interpretation of Revelation. Considered by modern evangelical scholars to be among the most influential, the collected lectures have been called "a monumental work," "thoroughly scholarly and spiritual," and "the highest type of scholarship." For Bible students, teachers, and Christians of all types, this is the work to turn to for understandable, in-depth explanations of the most intriguing book of the Bible.American Lutheran pastor JOSEPH AUGUST SEISS (1823-1904) was born in Maryland and served congregations in Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In addition to his translations of hymns from the original German, he also authored numerous books, including The Gospel in the Stars and The Great Pyramid: A Miracle in Stone.

Joseph Augustus Seiss: Is dead on about "THE LORDS DAY" That this is the same wording as "THE DAY OF THE LORD" The time were CHRIST JESUS returns to the earth with HIS FATHER and the heavenly host. And is NOT INTENED TO BE THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK Mr. Seiss Is also right that mankind will dwell on earth for ever and ever, THY KINDOM COME THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HAEVEN I am not done reading yet He is wrong on the TRINITY, THE TRINITY IS ONLY THE SPRIT OF GOD, IT IS NOT A PERSON ONLY GOD THE FATHER AND JESUS CHRIST ARE PERSONS. Mr. Seiss is right that those who become KINGS WILL NOT BE OF THE FLESH BUT OF THE SPRIT AS CHRIST AND HIS FATHER ARE WE WILL BECOME THE SONS OF GOD . GREAT BOOK A MAN A HEAD OF HIS TIME WHO KNEW MOST OF THE TRUTH TO LEARN MORE ON THE TURTH OF GODS WORD GO TO OWENSBORO CHURCH OF GOD.COM AND LISTEN TO MICHAEL C GARRETT ON YOUTUB THANK YOU doneverly55@yahoo.com

Page 332 - Faith is this : that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity, neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the substance. For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all one ; the glory equal, the- majesty coeternal.
Page 377 - And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
Page 83 - And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee ; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee : for thy merchants were the great men of the earth ; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
Page 31 - And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God ; we have waited for him, and he will save us : this is the LORD ; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Page 245 - Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord ; and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
Page 166 - And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh ; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions ; and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My Spirit.
Page 19 - Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

Page 96 - Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee : hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
Page 489 - THERE is no flock, however watched and tended, But one dead lamb is there ! There is no fireside, howsoe'er defended, But has one vacant chair ! The air is full of farewells to the dying, And mournings for the dead; The heart of Rachel, for her children crying, Will not be comforted...
