One object of God's forbearance and long-suffering is to lead men to repentance, Rom. ii. 4; and where men do not repent, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, will sooner or later be rendered to every soul of man that doeth evil. Rom. ii. 6. 8. 9.
