Remember the cleansing blood!

(Continued.) And I will also take of them (i. e. of the Gentiles) for priests and Levites, saith the Lord. For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain! And it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord! And they shall go forth and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me! For their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched! And they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

Of this dreadful day of doom upon those who reject Christ, our excellent Liturgy, in the voice of admonition, thus enlarges :

Then shall it be too late to knock, when the "door is closed; and too late to cry for

mercy,

"when it is the time of justice! O terrible

"voice of most just judgment, which shall be pronounced upon them, when it shall be said "unto them, Go ye cursed into everlasting fire, which is prepared for the devil and his

angels.' Therefore, brethren, take we heed "betime, while the day of salvation lasteth; "for the night cometh when no man can work; "but let us, while we have the light believe in "the light, and walk as children of the light,

that we be not cast into darkness, where is weeping and gnashing of teeth!"

Isaiah lxvi. 17, to the end;

ii. 1-5.

and

For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former shall not be remembered nor come into mind. But be ye (my servants) glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create! For, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy; and I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people. And the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying! They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth trouble, for they are the seed

of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them. And it shall come to pass, before they call I will answer, and while they are yet speaking I will hear!

What a contrast between the state of those who do, and those who do not neglect the day of salvation, is thus presented to us! The peaceful nature of the Messiah's kingdom is pourtrayed in the next verses.

(Continued.) The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock; and dust shall be the serpent's meat; they shall not hurt, nor destroy, in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord! And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it! people shall go, and say,

And many

Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of

Jacob, and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord out of Jerusalem!

Accomplished in Jesus Christ, see 24th of St. Luke, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8th, verses:—

And said unto them (the disciples), Thus it is written, and thus it behoveth Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day; and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations BEGINNING AT JERUSALEM! And ye are witnesses of these things!

(Continued.) And He (Christ) shall judge among the nations and shall rebuke many people. And they shall beat their swords into plough-shares, and their spears into pruning-hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Peace and love are the genuine characteristics of christianity. If this be not in harmony with the practice of those who embrace

the doctrine of the gospel, they cannot lay the blame on its principles.

(Continued.) O, house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord!

See 8th of St. John, 12th verse. Then spake Jesus again unto them (the Pharisees), saying, 'I am the light of the world; he that followeth 'me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have 'the light of life!'
