Now at that feast he was wont to release' unto them one 7 prisoner, whomsoever they asked for. And there was a man named Barabbas, who lay bound with those that had made insurrection with him, men who had committed murder in 8 the insurrection. And the multitude cried aloud, and began to ask that he would do as he had always done unto them. 9 Then Pilate answered them, saying, "Will ye that I release 10 unto you the King of the Jews?" (For he knew that through 11 envy the chief-priests had delivered him up.) But the chief
