Health promised and
enjoyed.

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. Ps. ciii. 3-5.

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Prov. iv. 20. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Ver. 22.

I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord. Jer. xxx. 17.

Promises of Peace.

I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land, Lev. xxvi. 6,

Declarations of Anger & Ruin.

I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies, saith the Lord. Isa. i. 24.

Fiery indignation shall devour the adversaries. Heb. x. 27.

According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay fury to his adversaries. Isa. lix. 18.

Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered. Psalm lxxviii. 1.

All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water; they shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them. Ezek. vii. 17, 18.

Woe unto them, for they have fled from me! destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me. Hos. vii. 13.

There is no peace saith my God to the wicked. Isa. lvii.

The way of peace they know not, and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths; whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. Isa. lix. 8.

The sword of the Lord shall devour from one end of the land even to the other end of the land; no flesh shall have peace. Jer. xii. 12.

Thus saith the Lord, Enter not into the house of mourning, for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the Lord, even loving kindness and mercies. Jer. xvi. 5.

Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none. Ezek. vii. 25.

The wicked is reserved to the day of destruction, they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath. Job xxi. 30.

Providential Guidance

1 will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psal. xxxii. 8.

Thou, in thy mercy, hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed; thou hast guided them in thy strength, unto thy holy habitation. Exod. xv.13.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; and he delighteth in his way. Psalm Xxxvii. 23.

He will be our guide even unto death. Psalm xlviii. 14.

Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterwards receive me to glory. Ps. lxxiii. 24

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Prov. iii. 6.

The Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones, and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. Isaiah lvii. 11.

I will bring the blind by a a way that they know not; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. Isaiah xlii. 16.

Direction withheld, and
Confusion suffered.

The paths of their way are turned aside; they go to nothing, and perish. Job vi. 18.

Since the days of our fathers, have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities, have we, our kings and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day. Ezra ix. 7.

Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul; let them be turned back and brought to confusion that' devise my hurt. Ps. xxxv. 4. Let their way be dark. (ver. 6.)

We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us, for we have sinned against the Lord our God. Jer. iii. 25.

Now shall be their perplexity. Micah vii. 4.

He shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness. Isa. xxxiv.

Prosperity and Success.

The Lord before whom I walk will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way.

Gen. xxiv. 40.

Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do. Deut. xxix. 9.

Thou shalt prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong and of good courage; dread not nor be dismayed. 1 Chron. xxii. 13.

And as long as he (Uzziah) sought the Lord, God made him to prosper. 2 Chron. xxvi. 5.

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season: his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm i. 3.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Psalm cxxii. 6.

Thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Psalm cxxviii. 2.

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee and the light shall shine upon thy ways. Job xxii. 28. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein

Adversity and Misfortune.

Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the Lord? but it shall not prosper. Numb. xiv. 41.

The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart, and thou shalt grope at noon-day, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways, and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall serve thee. Deut. xxviii. 28, 29.

Ye cannot prosper. Because ye have forsaken the Lord, he hath also forsaken you. 2 Chron. xxiv. 20.

day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Josh. i. 8.

If thou wouldst seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty; if thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous. Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. Job viii. 5-7.

If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. Job xxxvi. 11.

Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. Psl. XXXV. 27.

I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous. Isa.xlviii. 15.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and thou shalt have good success. Josh. i. 8.

The seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give her dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things. Zech.viii. 12.

Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies until ye take away the accursed thing from among you. Josh. vii. 13.

Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you. Jer. v. 25.

If they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge. Job xxxvi. 12.

Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at my hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me. Psl. XXXV. 26.

The Lord hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them. Jer. ii. 37.

Thus saith the Lord, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper. Jer. xxii. 30.

Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth eat. Your gold and your silver is cankered. James v. 1-3,
