heads thereof judge for hire.
Therefore shall Zion for your
sake be plowed as a field, and
Jerusalem shall become heaps,
and the mountains of the house
as the high places of the forest.
Micah iii. 9, 11, 12.

Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; to turn aside the needy from judgment, and, to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless! to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself gold and silver. And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book, out of that which is before the priests the Levites. And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them. thou closest thyself in cedar? Did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him > He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the Lord. But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it. Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah: they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or ah my sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, ah his glory! He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem. Jer. xxii. 15-19.

Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people. Acts xxiii. 5.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: The powers that be are ordained of God. Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same. For he is the minister of God to thee for good. Wherefore, ye must needs be subject not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending upon this very thing.
