or railing for railing; but contrariwise blessings. 1 Pet. iii. 9. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. Heb. xiii. 2, 3.

Adultery, Fornication, and all Uncleanness forbidden.

Thou shalt not commit adul tery. Exod. xx. 14.

The lips of a strange woman drop as an honey-comb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: but her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. Hear me now, therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house, lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: lest strangers be filled with thy wealth, and thy labours be in the house of a stranger; and thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed. Prov. v. 3-5, 7-11.

Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings. Prov. xxxi. 3.

Let not sin therefore reign

eth it to his own death. 1 Prov. xi. 19.

Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire. For I was hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick and in prison, and ye visited me not. Matt. xxv. 41-43.

Adulterers, Fornicators, and Unclean Persons, threatened or punished.

He that doeth it, destroyeth his own soul. A wound and dis honour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away. Prov. vi. 32, 33.

The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me; and disguiseth his face. In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the day-time: they know not the light. For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one knew them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death. He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth. The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered. Job xxv. 15-18, 20.

Know ye not that the un

in your mortal bodies, that ye should obey it in the lust thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members instruments of righteousness unto God. Rom.. vi. 12, 13.

Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery. Mark x. 19.

Abstain from fornication. Acts xv. 29.

Cast off the works of darkness. Walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness. Rom. xiii. 12, 13.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication, sinneth against his own body. 1 Cor. vi. 18.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them (the Jews) committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thou sand. 1 Cor. x. 8.

Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lusts of the flesh. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanness. Gal. v. 16, 19.

Fornication, and all uncleanness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints. Neither filthiness. Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. Eph. v. 3, 4, 11.

Mortify, therefore, your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inor dinate affections. Col. iii. 5,

righteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind; shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. vi. 9. 10.

Whoremongers and adulterers, God will judge. Heb. iii. 4.

I will be a swift witness against the adulterers: saith the Lord of hosts. Mal. iii. 5.

By swearing, and lying, and committing adultery, the land shall mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish. Hosea iv. 2, 3.

They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal. v. 21.

The man that committeth adultery, shall surely be put to death. Levit. xx. 10.

This is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges. For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction. Job xxxi. 11, 12.

Without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers; and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Rev. xxii. 15.

For which things' sake, the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. Col. iii. 6.

This is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication. That every man should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; not in the lust of concupiscence. 1 Thes. iv. 3-5.

Flee also youthful lusts. 2 Tim. ii. 22.

Denying all ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly. Titus ii. 12.

As strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshy lusts, which war against the soul. 1 Peter ii. 11.

The fearful and unbelieving, the abominable, and whoremongers, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Rev. xxi. 8.

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Cor. iii. 17.

Will ye commit adultery? I will cast you out of my sight. Therefore, pray not thou for this people. Jer. vii. 9, 15, 16.

Shall I not visit for these things? saith the Lord of hosts: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? Jer. v. 9.

is the first and great commandment. The second is like unto ít, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matt. xxi. 37, 38, 39.

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, If ye have love one to another. John xiii. 34, 35.

Let love be without dissimulation. Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love.

Rom. xii. 9, 10.

Love one another; for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Rom xiii. 8, 10.

Follow after charity (or love.) 1 Cor. xiv. 1.

Let all things be done with charity, (love.) 1 Cor. xvi. 14.

By love serve one another; for all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The fruit of the Spirit is love. Gal. v. 13, 14, 22.

Walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, for bearing one another in love. Eph. v. 1, 2.

Walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us. Eph. v. 2.

As touching brotherly love, ye need not that I write unto

hatred, wrath; they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal. v. 19— 21.

Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, therefore, as I live saith the Lord God, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee. Ezek. Xxxv. 5, 6.

Thy tongue deviseth mischief; like a sharp razor working deceitfully. God shall like. wise destroy thee for ever. Psal. lii. 2, 5.

Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother, thou slanderest thine own mother's son. I will reprove; consider this, lest I tear thee in pieces, and there be none to deliver. Psal. 1. 20-22.

Thou hast put them to shame that hated us. Psal. xliv. 7.

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me. 2 Sam. xxii. 41.

Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. Isaiah lxvi. 5.

I will beat down his foes be fore his face, and plague them that hate him. Psal. lxxxix. 23.

If ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed. Gal. v. 15.

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer; and ye know

you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. But we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more. 1 Thes. iv. 9, 10.

And above all these things, put on charity, (love,) which is the bond of perfectness. Col. iii. 14.

The end of the commandment is charity (love) out of a pure heart. 1 Tim. i. 5.

Follow after love. 1 Tim. vi. 11.

Let us consider one another, to provoke one another unto love. Heb. x. 24.

Let brotherly love continue. Heb. xiii. 1.

If ye fulfil the royal law according to the Scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well. Jas. ii. 8.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth, through the Spirit, unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently. 1 Peter i. 22.

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren. 1 Peter iii. 8.

And above al' things, have fervent charity (love) among yourselves; for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. 1 Peter iv. 8.

This commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God, love his brother also. 1 John iv. 21.

This is the message that ye

that no murderer hath eternal life abiding him. 1 John iii. 15.

He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. I John ii. 9.

Evil shall slay the wicked; and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. Psl. xxxiv. 21.

A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment. Prov. xix. 19.

Woe to them that devise ini. quity: so they oppress a man and his house. Micah ii. 1, 2.

Filled with maliciousness; full of envy; they are worthy of death. Rom. i. 29, 32.

The Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee. Deut. xxx. 7.

Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High: therefore he brought down their heart with labour, they fell down, and there was none to help. Psl. cvii. 11, 12.

If a man say, I love God, and hate his brother, he is a liar. 1 John iv. 20.

Thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. Psl. cxxxviii. 7.

Smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again. Deut. xxxiii. 11.
