Now, set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God: arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is built to the name of the Lord. 1 Chron. xxii. 19.

Know thou the God of thy Father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts. If ye seek him he will be found of thee. Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary; be strong, and do it. 1 Chron. xxviii. 9, 10.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left. Remove thy foot from evil. Prov. iv. 23-27.

My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways. Prov. xxiii. 26.

Let love be without dissimulation. Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. Rom. xii. 9, 11.

Beware ye of the leven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed. Luke xii. 1, 2.

The Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them. 1 Sam. ii, 3, 10.

I said, Ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice. Wherefore, they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you. Judges ii. 2, 3.

The triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment. Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds, yet he shall perish for ever. Job xx. 5-7.

Whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that he were drowned in the midst of the sea. Matt. xviii. 6.

O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? Behold the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. Acts xiii. 10, 11.

Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way that leadeth unto life. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matt. vii. 14, 21.

Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny

perance, patience; and to patience, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, charity. For if these things be in you and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter i. 5-8.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing ye look for such things, be diligent, that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 2 Peter iii. 14.

Building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto eternal life. Jude 20, 21.

Holy Jealousy and Fear commanded, as Preservatives against Apostacy.

Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee. Thou shalt worship no other God: for the Lord whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land; and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; and thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods. Exod. xxxiv. 12, 14-16.

Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the Lord hath rejected them. Jer. vi. 30.

Ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this at your hand? saith the Lord. But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing. Mal. i. 13, 14.

Threatenings denounced and Judgments executed upon Apostates.

If ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they unto you; know for a certainty, that they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this land, which the Lord your God hath given you. Josh. xxiii. 12, 13.

The Lord thy God is a con suming fire, even a jealous God, When thou shalt beget children and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and shall do evil in the sight of the Lord thy God, to provoke him to anger; I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon perish, ye shall be utterly destroyed. Deut. iv. 24-26.

Then the Lord's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield no fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the land which the Lord giveth you. Deut. xi. 17..

have foretold you all things. Take heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. Watch ye therefore, for ye know not when the master cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at cock-crowing, or in the morning; lest coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you, I say unto all: Watch! Mark xiii. 23, 33, 35 -37.

Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. Luke xi. 35.

Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke xxi. 34, 36.

Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. John v. 14.

Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 1 Cor. x. 12.

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit yourselves like men, be strong. 1 Cor. xvi. 13.

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Eph. v, 15, 6.

wickedness in their doings. I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters. My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations. Hosea ix. 15, 17.

Both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the Lord. Wherefore their ways shall be unto them, as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them. Jer. xxiii. 11, 12.

It came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God. And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from the Lord God of Israel. Wherefore the Lord said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant, I will surely send the kingdom from thee. 1 Kings xi. 4, 9, 11.

They that forsake the Lord shall be consumed. Isa. i. 28.

Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes. Psal. cxix. 118.

Thus saith the Lord, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you. 2 Chron. xii. 5.

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them. Psl. v. 5, 6. R
