to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Because I live, ye shall ive also. John xiv. 2, 3, 19.

I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice; and your joy no man taketh from you. John xvi. 22.

Father, I will that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me. John xvii. 24.

The gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. vi. 23.

I reckon that the sufferings of this present time, are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Rom. viii. 18.

As we have borne the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality: then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in vic

idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulation, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of the which I have told you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things, shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal. v. 19-21.

Thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Isa. xiv. 15.

The heavens and the earth are kept in store, reserved unto fire, against the day of judgment, and perdition of ungodly men. 2 Peter iii. 7.

The wages of sin is death. Rom. vi. 23.

The smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever; and they have no rest day nor night. Rev. xiv. 11. '

They are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction. Phil. iii. 18, 19.

Behold, the day cometh that shall burn as an oven, and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble, and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts. Mal. iv. 1.

Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Cor. iv. 17, 18.

We know, that if the earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Cor. v. 1.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Col.

iii. 4.

Then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thes. iv. 17, 18.

He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thes. ii. 14.

I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. 2 Tim. ii. 10.

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb. iv. 9.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which, according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance

Then shall that wicked one be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming. That they all may be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thes. ii. 8, 12.

Sodom and Gomorrah are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 7.

The end of the unfruitful is to be burned. Heb. vi. 8.

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. Psal. ix. 17.

Hell from beneath is moved for thee, to meet thee at thy coming. Isa. xiv. 9.

Woe unto you, hypocrites. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Matt. xxiii. 29, 33.

Having damnation, because they cast off their first faith. 2 Thes. ii. 12.

As the tares are gathered, and burnt in the fire, so shall it be in the end of the world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do

incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. 1 Pet. i. 3, 4.

There is laid up for me a crown of righteousness; which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Tim. iv. 8.

When the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not awav. 1 Peter v. 4.

We, according to his promise, look for new heavens, and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 2 Peter iii. 13.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God; and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John iii. 2.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Rev. iii. 5.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my father on his throne. Rev. iii. 21.

After this I beheld, and, lo! a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the lamb,

iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire, there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matt. xiii. 40-42.

A fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. I will heap mischief upon them ; 1 will spend mine arrows upon them. Deut. xxxii. 22, 23.

The Lord thy God is a consuming fire. Deut. iv. 24.

The Lord knoweth how to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment, to be punished; but chiefly them who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness. 2 Peter ii. 9, 10.

Fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? Isaiah xxxiii.

They shall go forth and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me; for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorrence unto all flesh. Isa. lxvi. 24.

Tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile. Rom. ii. 9.

And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham have mercy on me, and send

clothed in white robes, and palms in their hands. Rev. vii. 9.

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more, neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of water: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Rev. vii. 16, 17.

I heard a voice from heaven, saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Rev. xiv. 13.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God, And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying; neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away. Rev. xxi, 3, 4.

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. Rev. xxii. 1, 5.

Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. Luke xvi. 24, 25.

The day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night: for when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape. 1 Thes. v. 2, 3.

Cursed children, which have forsaken the right way. Wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom is reserved the mist of darkness for ever. 2 Peter ii. 14, 15, 17.

He that despised Moses' law, died without mercy. Of how much sorer punishment shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? Heb. x. 28.

The devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and false prophet are, and they shall be tormented day and night, for ever and ever. Rev. XX. 10.

PART IV.

PRECEPTS ENJOINED BY THE WORD OF GOD, AND THREATENINGS AGAINST THOSE WHO ARE DISOBEDIENT.

PRECEPTS ENJOINED.

General Precepts in reference to God and Godliness.

I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves. For I am the Lord, that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. Lev. xi. 44,

Remember and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God: I am the Lord your God. Num. xv. 40, 41.

Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. Eccl. xii. 13.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matt. v. 16.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart. Matt. xi. 29.

Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for your body, what ye shall put

Judgments denounced against such as Disobey.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption. Gal. vi. 7, 8.

Because thou servest not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies. Deut. xxviii. 47, 48.

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. Ezek. xviii. 4.

The axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit, is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Matt. iii. 10.

If ye live after the flesh ye shall die. Rom. viii. 13.

Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the Lord, and hast not kept the command
