This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John xvii. 3.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him, that hath called us to glory and virtue. 2 Peter i. 2, 3.

Hereby, we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 1 John ii. 4.

Every one that loveth, is born of God, and knoweth God. 1 John iv. 7.

We know that the Son of God is come, and hath given as an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 1 John v. 20.

The Spirit's Influences promised and received.

Thou gavest also thy good Spirit to instruct them. Neh.

ix. 20.

I will pour out my Spirit unto you, and make my words known unto you. Prov. i. 23.

The Spirit's Influences sinned against and withheld. The flesh lusteth against the spirit. Gal. v. 17.

My Spirit shall not always strive with man. Gen. vi. 3.

It is impossible for those who

that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy. When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof, by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning. Isaiah iv. 3, 4.

I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring. Isaiah xliv. 3.

This is my covenant with them, saith the Lord, My Spirit shall be upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed. Isa. lix. 21.

I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh. Ezek. xi. 19.

If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him. Luke xi. 19.

Jesus answered and said unto her, (the woman of Samaria) If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith unto thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. John iv. 10.

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive. John vii. 38.

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John xiv. 16, 17, 26.

Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye, Acts vii. 51.

The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel nor Spirit. Acts xxiii. 8.

The Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him; and Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. 1 Sam. xvi. 14, 15.

The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Cor. ii. 14.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. 2 Cor. iii. 17.

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophesy; to another discerning of Spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But these all worketh that one and the self-same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For by one Spirit are we all baptised into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink of one Spirit. 1 Cor. xii. 4, 7-11, 13.

The mystery of Christ, which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto the holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, that he

would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with m:ght by his Spirit in the inner man. Eph. iii. 4, 5, 14, 16.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren; 'see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently. 1 Peter i. 22.

Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 1 John iv. 13.

God hath not given us the Spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Tim. i. 7.

It is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and these three agree in one. 1 John v. 6-8.

God shall save the humble person. Job xxii, 29.

When Abram was ninety

that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I will not hear, saith the Lord of Hosts. Zech. vii. 12, 13.

He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses; of how much sorer punishment suppose ye shall be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of Grace. Heb. x. 28, 29.

Quench not the Spirit. 1 Thess. v. 19.

The blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. Matt. xii. 31.

Ephraim is joined to idols; let him alone. Hosea iv. 17.

Threatenings against Pride, and Arrogancy manifested.
