“ 1. WHETHER in March laft he got William "Trie to write to Lyons, and faid a great many Things against Michael Villanovanus, alias Servetus. What were the Contents of that Let ter, and for what End it was written.

My Lords, there are Four weighty and undeni able Reasons, for which Calvin ought to be con “demned.

"Firft, Because no Man ought to be profecuted like a Criminal for any Doctrinal Point, as I "have fhewed in my Petitions, and fhall make it

appear more at large by the Ancient Doctors of "the Church. And therefore he has made a very "ill Use of a Criminal Profecution, and acted against the Character of a Minifter of the Gol

Secondly, Because he is a falfe Accufer, as you may fee by thefe Papers, and as it will plainly ap pear by the reading of my Book. (..

Thirdly, Because he defigns to ftifle the Doctrine of Chrift by frivolous and caluminious Arguments, as you plainly fee by my Papers; for he has inferted in them great Lies and wicked Things.

Fourthly, Because he follows in a great Measure the Doctrine of Simon Magus, contrary to all the Doctors that ever lived in the Church. And therefore being a Magician, he ought not only to be condemned, but alfo expelled from your City: And "his Eftate ought to be adjudged to me, as an Equi "valent for the Lofs of mine, which he has occafioned. I have found out, that Calvin had fome Enemies at Geneva, who advised Servetus to abufe him to the highest Degree, and made him believe it would be very advantageous to his Caufe. I fhall have hereafter a more proper Occafion to enlarge upon this Particular,
