MINISTERS OF CHRIST.
CXV. Ministers of Christ, their duties. The commission given to the
apostles. Matt. v. I. Jesus's disciples came unto him.

Pray the Lord of the harvest that he will send forth labourers. x. 5. These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them saying, Ver. 7. Go preach,

CXVI. Power committed to the apostles. Matt. xviii. 18. Whatsoever ye shall bind ori carth, shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven. Ch. xvi. 19.
John xx. 23. Whosesoever sins ye remit, they are remitted, and whosesoever sins ye retain, they are retained.
1 Cor. ix. 18. I abuse not my power in the gospel.
2 Cor. i. 24. Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy:
X. 8. Our authority the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for destruction.

CXVII. Excommunication. Matt. xviii. 15. If thy brother trespass against thee, go tell him his fault between thee and him alone : If he shall hear thce, thou hast gained thy brother ;
Ver. 16. If he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more.
Ver. 17. And if he neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church, but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heaihen man and a publican.
Rom. xvi. 17. Mark them which cause divisions, contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned, and avoid them.
1 Cor. v. I. It is reported that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
Ver. 3. I have judged concerning him that hath done this deed.
Ver. 4. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ver. 5. Tu deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.
Ver. 11. 'I have written to you not to keep company, if any man tha! is called a brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or e railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner, with such an one, no not to eat.
I Cor. v. 13. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
2 Cor. ii. 6. Sufficient to such a man is the punishment inflicted of many. Jude ver. 22.
2 Thess. iii. 6. Withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly.
Ver. 14. If any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him that he may be ashamed.
2 John ver. 10. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine (of Christ) receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: See Lev. X. 10. Put a difference between the holy and profane, and Deut. xvii. 12. Ezek. xxii. 26.-xliv. 23.

CXVIII. None may intrude into the ministerial office. Numb. xviii. 7. The Lord said, I have given your priests office unto you, as a service of gift.
Ver. 32. Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin and die.
Deut. x. 8. The Lord separated the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to stard before the Lord, and to minister unto hini, and to bless in his name. Ch. xxi. 5.
Jer. xxii. 21. I have not sent these prophets yet they ran.
John X. 1. He that cometh not in by the door, is a thief and a robber.
Rom. 8. 15. How shall they preach except they be sent.

CXIX. Teaching truth, the duty of ministers. Exod. xviii. 20. Thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work they must do.
xxiv. 12. The Lord said unto Moses, I will give thee a law and commandments which I have written that thou mayest teach them.
Lev. x. 10. Take heed that ye put a difference between the holy and unholy, and between the clean and the unclean. Ezek. xliv. 23.
Ver. 11. And teach the children of Isreal the statutes which the Lord hath spoken unto them. Deut. iv. 14.-7.31.-vi. 1.-xxxi. 19.
