27. But thou art the same: and thy years shall not fail.

2. Hide not thy face from me in the time of my trouble incline thine ear unto me when I call; O hear me, and that right soon.

[TURNER, JOMELLI, W. HAYES, LANGDON, BANKS.

[blocks in formation]

1. LORD, who shall dwell in thy tabernacle: or who shall rest upon thy holy hill?

:

2. Even he that leadeth an uncorrupt life and doeth the thing which is right, and speaketh the truth from his heart.

3. He that hath used no deceit in his tongue, nor done evil to his neighbour : and hath not slandered his neighbour.

4. He that setteth not by himself, but is lowly in his own eyes and maketh much of them that fear the LORD.

5. He that sweareth unto his neighbour, and disappointeth him not: though it were to his own hinderance.

6. He that hath not given his money upon usury: nor taken reward against the innocent.

7. Whoso doeth these things: shall never fall. Hallelujah. Amen. [ROGERS, KENT, BOYCE, DAVY.

[blocks in formation]

LORD, for thy tender mercy's sake lay not our sins to our charge, but forgive that is past, and give us grace to amend our sinful life; to decline from sin and incline to virtue, that we may walk in a perfect heart before thee now and evermore. [FARRANT.

[blocks in formation]

4. LORD, what is man, that thou art mindful of him and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

:

5. Thou madest him lower than the angels: to crown him with glory and worship.

6. Thou makest him to have dominion of the works of thy hands and thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet;

7. All sheep and oxen : yea, and the beasts of the field;

8. The fowls of the air, and the fishes of the sea : and whatsoever walketh through the paths of the

seas.

9. O LORD our Governor how excellent is thy Name in all the world!

Sing unto God, in loudest songs of praise; exalt his glorious Name. [TURNER, HANDEL, BOYCE.

[blocks in formation]

17. LORD, what is man, that thou shouldest visit him?

19. How long wilt thou not depart from me?

20. I have sinned; what shall I do, O thou preserver of men?

21. Why pardonest thou not my transgression, nor takest mine iniquity?

xiv. 13. O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave until thy wrath be past!

iii. 17. There the wicked cease from troubling: there the weary are at rest. Hallelujah.

[BOYCE.

[blocks in formation]

:

5. LORD, how long wilt thou be angry shall thy jealousy burn like fire for ever?

6. Pour out thine indignation upon the heathen that have not known thee: and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy Name.

:

7. For they have devoured Jacob and laid waste his dwelling-place.

8. O remember not our old sins, but have mercy upon us, and that soon for we are come to great misery.

9. Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy Name: O deliver us, and be merciful unto our sins, for thy Name's sake.

12. O let the sorrowful sighing of the prisoners come before thee: according to the greatness of thy power, preserve thou those that are appointed to die.

19. Turn us again, O LORD GOD of hosts: shew the light of thy countenance, and we shall be whole.

exxx. 3. But if thou, LORD, wilt be extreme to mark what is done amiss: O LORD, who may abide it?

4. For there is mercy with thee: therefore shalt thou be feared. Hallelujah. Amen.
