LIFT up thy voice with joy, O my soul, and sing Hosanna to the new-born Jesus.

Call all the blessed angels to celebrate his praise, and repeat aloud that heavenly anthem,

Glory be to GoD on high, and on earth peace, good will towards men.

Lift up thy voice aloud, O my soul, and to the choirs of heaven join the praises of the church. [BECKWITH Sen.

1. LORD, how are they increased that trouble me : many are they that rise against me.

2. Many one there be that say of my soul: There is no help for him in his GOD.

3. But thou, O LORD, art my defender: thou art my worship, and the lifter up of my head.

4. I did call upon the LORD with my voice: and he heard me out of his holy hill.

5. I laid me down and slept, and rose up again : for the LORD sustained me.

6. I will not be afraid for ten thousands of the people that have set themselves against me round about.

8. Salvation belongeth unto the LORD and thy blessing is upon thy people.

xxv. 15. Turn thee unto me, O LORD: for I am desolate and in misery.

16. The sorrows of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my troubles. Hear me, O LORD, for my spirit waxeth faint.

xxviii. 1. Make not thou as if thou hearest not: lest I be like them that go down into the pit.

xxv. 19. O keep my soul and deliver me : let me not be confounded, for I have put my trust in thee. xxxviii. 21. Forsake me not, O LORD my God: be not thou far from me.

22. Haste thee to help me, O LORD God of my salvation. Hallelujah. Amen.

PSALM XXXix.

5. LORD, let me know my end, and the number of my days that I may be certified how long I have to live.

6. Thou hast made my days as it were a span long and mine age is even as nothing in respect of thee; and verily every man living is altogether vanity.

7. For man walketh in a vain shadow, and disquieteth himself in vain he heapeth up riches, and cannot tell who shall gather them.

:

8. And now, Lord, what is my hope truly my hope is even in thee.

13. Hear my prayer, O LORD, and with thine ears consider my calling: hold not thy peace at my

tears.

14. For I am a stranger with thee and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

15. O spare me a little, that I may recover my strength before I go hence, and be no more seen. [GIBBONS, LOCKE, GREENE, CLARKE WHITFIELD.

:

97. LORD, what love have I unto thy law all the day long is my study in it.

98. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies for they are ever with

me.

99. I have more understanding than my teachers: for thy testimonies are my study.

100. I am wiser than the aged: because I keep thy commandments.

101. I have refrained my feet from every evil way: that I may keep thy word.

102. I have not shrunk from thy judgments: for thou teachest me.

103. O how sweet are thy words unto my throat : yea, sweeter than honey unto my mouth.

104. Through thy commandments I get understanding therefore I hate all evil ways.

72. The law of thy mouth is dearer unto me than thousands of gold and silver.

142. Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness and thy law is the truth.

143. Trouble and heaviness have taken hold upon me yet is my delight in thy commandments.

ii. 9. Thou shalt bruise them with a rod of iron: and break them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Glory be to the Father, &c.

As it was in the beginning, &c.

lxxxvi. 5. For thou art good and gracious and of great mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

LAM. V. 1. Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us : consider, and behold our reproach.

3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

15. The joy of our heart is turned into mourning. Ps. xc. 15. Comfort us again now after the time that thou hast plagued us : and for the years wherein we have suffered adversity.

14. So shall we rejoice and be glad all the days of our life.

1. LORD, thou hast been our refuge from one generation to another.

2. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever the earth and the world were made, thou art GOD from everlasting, and world without end. And let all the people say, Amen.

4. For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday seeing that is past as a watch in the night.

:

5. As soon as thou scatterest them they are even as a sleep and fade away suddenly like the grass. 9. For when thou art angry, all our days are gone: we bring our years to an end, as it were a tale that is told.

10. The days of our age are threescore years and ten; and though men be so strong that they come to fourscore years: yet is their strength then but labour and sorrow; so soon passeth it away, and we are gone.

12. Teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

18. Turn thee, O LORD, and be gracious unto thy

servants.

14. O satisfy us with thy mercy, and that soon: so shall we rejoice and be glad all the days of our

life.

cii. 3. For my days are consumed away like smoke: and my bones are burnt up as it were a firebrand. 9. For I have eaten ashes as it were bread and mingled my drink with weeping.
