Here endeth the Order of Evening Prayer throughout the Year,

Upon thefe Feafts, Christmas day,the Epiphany, Saint Matthias,Eafterday, Afcenfion-day, Whitfunday, Saint John Baptift, Saint James, Sant Bartholomew, Saint Matthew, Saint Simon and Saint Jude, Saint Andrew, and upon Trinity-Sunday, shall be fung or faid at, Morning Prar, in ftead of the Apostles Creed, this Confeffion of our Chriftian Faiti, commonly called the Creed of Saint Athanafius, by the Minifter and People fanaing

Quicunque vult.

Hofoever will be faved: before all things it is neceflary that he hold the Catholick Faith, Which Faith, except every one do keep whole and undelled: without doubt he fhall perish everlastingly. Ad the Catholick Faith is this: That we worship one fod in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity,

Nither confounding the perfons: nor dividing the fubfince.

To there is one perfon of the Father, another of the Sor: and another of the Holy Ghost.

Bat the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is all one: the Glory equal,the Majefty D-eternal.

Such as the Father is, fuch is the Son: and fuch is e Holy Ghost.

The Father uncreate, the Son uncrcate: and the Ho. fi Ghoft uncreate.

The Father incomprehenfible, the Son incomprehenfible: and the Holy Ghoft incomprehenfible.

The Father eternal, the Son eternal: and the Holy Ghost eternal.

And yet they are not three eternals: but one eternal. As alfo there are not three incomprehenfibles,nor three uncreated; but one uncreated, and one incom prehenfible.

So likewife the Father is Almighty,the Son Almighty and the Holy Ghost Almighty.

And yet they are not three Almighties: but one Al mighty.

So the Father is God, the Son is God: and the Holy Ghoft is God.

And yet they are not three Gods: but one God.

So likewise the Father is Lord,the Son Lord: and the Holy Ghoft Lord;

And yet not three Lords: but one Lord.

For like as we are compelled by the Chriftian erity to acknowledge every perfon by himself to be God and Lord;

So are we forbidden by the Catholick Religion: to fay, There be three Gods, or three Lords.

The Father is made of none: neither created, or be gotten.

The Son is of the Father alone: not made, no crea ted, but begotten.

The Holy Ghoft is of the Father,and of the Sor nei ther made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding. So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son not three Sons: one Holy Ghost,not three Holy Ghos And in this Trinity none is afore, or after other: no is greater, or lefs then another;

But the whole three perfons are co-eternal togethe and co-equal.

So that in all things,as is afcrefaid: the Unity in T mity, and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped.

He therefore that will be faved: muft thus think of the Trinity.

Furthermore, it is necessary to everlasting falvation : that he alfo believe rightly the Incarnation of our Lord Jefus Chrift.

For the right Faith is, that we believe and confefs: that our Lord Jefus Christ, the Son of God, is God,and Man;

God of the fubftance of the Father, begotten before the worlds: and Man of the fubftance of his mother, born in the world;

Perfect God, and perfect Man: of a reasonable foul, Fand humane flesh fubfifting;

Equal to the Father, as touching his Godhead and inferiour to the Father, as touching his Manhood.

Who although he be God, and Man: yet he is not two, but one Chrift;

One; not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh: but by taking of the manhood into God;

One altogether; not by confufion of fubftance: but by unity of perfon.

For as the reafonable foul and flesh is one man: fo God and man is one Chrift.

Who fuffered for our falvation: defcended into hell, rofe again the third day from the dead.

He afcended into heaven,he fitteth on the right hand of the Father, God Almighty: from whence he fhall come to judge the quick and the dead,

At whofe coming all men fhall rife again with their bodies and fhall give account for their own works. And they that have done good, shall go into life everlafting and they that have done evil, into everlafting fire.

This is the Catholick Faith: which except a man believe faithfully, he cannot be faved.

Glory be to the Father,and to the Son: and to the
Holy Ghost;
