diflemble nor cloke them before the face of Almighty God our heavenly Father,but confefs them with an humble, lowly,penitent, and obedient heart, to the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the fame by his infinite goodness and mercy. And although we ought at all times humbly to acknowledge our fins before God, ye ought we most chiefly fo to do, when we affemble and meet together, to render thanks for the great benefits that we have received at his hands, to fet forth his moft worthy praife, to hear his most holy word, and to ask thofe things which are requifite and neceffary, as well for the body as the foul. Wherefore I pray and befeech you as many as are here prefent to accompany me with a pure heart and humble voice unto the throne of the heavenly grace, faying after me.

Lmighty and moft merciful Father; We have er red and strayed from thy ways like loft fheep. W have followed too much the devices and defires of ou own hearts. We have offended against thy holy laws We have left undone thofe things which we ought t have done; And we have done thofe things which w ought not to have done; And there is no health in u But thou, O Lord,have mercy upon us, miferable offer ders-Spare thou them, O God,which confefs their fault Reftore thou then that are penitent; According to th promifes declared unto mankind in Chrift Jefu o Lord. declare and pronounce to his people being penitent the abfolution and remiffion of their fins: He pardonheth and abfolveth all them that truly repent, and unfeignedly believe his holy gofpel. Wherefore let us be feech him to grant us true repentance,and his holy Spirit,that thofe things may please him which we do at this prefent,and that the reft of our life hereafter may be pure and holy, fo that at the last we may come to his eternal joy, through Jefus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then the Minister shall kneel and fay the Lords Prayer W the people alfo kneeling, and repeating it with him.

Ο Ur Father, which art in heaven; Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in WI earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trefpaffes, As we forgive them that trefpafs againft us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, eAnd the power, And the glory, for ever and ever, Amen.

And his mercy is on them that fear him: throughou all generations.

He hath fhewed ftrength with his arm: he hath fcat tered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their feat and hath exalted the humble and meek.

Sing unto the Lord a new fong: for he hath don marvellous things.

With his own right hand, and with his holy arm: hat he gotten himself the victory.

Then a Leffon of the New Testament, as it is appointed: An after that, Nunc dimittis, (or the Song of Simeon) in English, as followeth.

Lord, now lettet thou thy fervant depart in peace: For mine eyes have feen: thy falvation,

Which thou haft prepared: before the face of all people,

To be a light to lighten the gentiles: and to be the glory of thy people Ifrael.

Believe in God the Father Almighty,Maker of heaven and earth:

And in Jefus Christ his only Son our Lord,Who was conceived by the holy Ghoft, Born of the Virgin Mary, fuffered under Pontius Pilate, VVas crucified, dead and buried,He defcended into hell; The third day he rofe again from the dead, He afcended into heaven, And fitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he fhall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the holy Ghoft; The holy Catholick Church; The Communion of Saints; The forgiveness of fins; The refurrection of the body, And the life everlasting. Amen.

And after that, these Prayers following, all devoutly kneeling, the Minister first pronouncing with a loud voice,
