led. And he fent Peter and John, faying, Go and pre pare us the pallover, that we may eat. And they faid unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare? And he faid unto them, Behold, when ye are entred into the city, there fhall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entreth in And ye fhall fay unto the good-man of the houfe, The mafter faith unto thee, VVhere is the gueft-chamber, where I fhall eat the pallover with my difciples? And he fhall fhew you a large upper room furnished, there make ready. And they went, and found as he had faid unto them and they made ready the paffover. And when the hour was come, he fat down, and the twelve apostles with him. And he said unto them, With defire I have defired to eat this pallover with you before I fuffer. For I fay unto you, I will not any more eat thereof until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and faid, Take this, and divide it among your felves. For I fay unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God fhall come. And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave, gave unto them, faying, This is my body, which is given for you:this do in remembrance of me.Likewile alfo the cup after fupper, faying, This cup is the new te ftament in my blood, which is fhed for you. But Behold the hand of him that betrayeth me, is with me on the ta ble. And truly the Son of man goeth as it was determined; but wo unto that man by whom he is betrayed. And they beganto enquire among themfelves, which of them it was that should do this thing. And there was also a ftrife a mong them, which of them fhould be accounted the greateft. And he faid untothem, The kings of the Gentiles ex ercife lordship over them,& they that exercife authority upon them, are called benefactors. But ye fhall not be fo but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the youn ger,an I he that is chief,as he that doth ferve. For wheth greater, he that fitteth at meat,or he that ferveth?is no

e that fitteth at meat? But I am among you as he that erveth. Ye are they which have continued with me my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, s my Father hath appointed unto me; that ye may eat nd drink at my table in my kingdom, and fit on thrones, idging the twelve tribes of Ifrael. And the Lord faid, imon, Simon, behold, Satan hath defired to have you, hat he may fift you as wheat: But I have prayed for hee, that thy faith fail not; and when thou art conerted, strengthen thy brethren. And he said unto him, ord, I am ready to go with thee both into prifon and death. And he faid, I tell thee, Peter, the cock all not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny at thou knoweft me. And he faid unto them, When fent you without purfe, and fcrip, and fhoes, lacked ye nything? And they faid, Nothing. Then faid he unto em, But now, he that hath a purfe, let him take it,and kewife his fcrip: and he that hath no fword, let him his garment, and buy one. For I fay unto you, that is that is written, muft yet be accomplished in me, Arid e was reckoned among the tranfgreffours: for the ings concerning me have an end. And they faid,Lord, ehold, here are two fwords. And he faid unto them, is enough. And he came out, and went, as he was ont, to the mount of Olives, and his difciples alfo folwed him. And when he was at the place,he faid unto em, Pray, that ye enter not into temptation. And he as withdrawn from them about a ftones caft, and kneed down, and prayed, faying,Father, if thoube willing, move this cup from me: nevertheless, not my will, ut thine be done. And there appeared an angel unto im from heaven, ftrengthening him. And being in an gony,he prayed more earneftly; and his fweat was as were great drops of bloud falling down to the ground. nd when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his ifciples, he found them fleeping for forrow, and faid to them, Why fleep ye? rife and pray, left ye enter

Wherefore, whofoever fhall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord unworthily, fhall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himfelf, and fo let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not dif cerning the Lords body. For this cause many are weak and fickly among you, and many fleep. For if we would judge our felves, we fhould not be judged. But when we are judged,we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. Wherefore, my bre thren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another. And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I fet in order when I come.

He whole multitude of them arofe, and led him unto Pilate. And they began to accuse him, faying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cefar, faying, That he himself is Chrift a King. And Pilate asked him, faying, Art thou the king of the Jews? and he anfwered him, and faid, Thou fayelt it. Then faid Pilate to the chief Priests, and to the people, I find no fault in this man. And they were the more fierce, faying, He stirreth up the people, teach ing throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee,to this place. When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilean. And as foon as he knew that he belonged unto Herods jurifdiction,he fent him to He rod,who himfelf was also at Jerufalem at that time. And when Herod faw Jefus, he was exceeding glad, for he was defirous to fee him of a long feafon, because he had heard many things of him,and he hoped to have feen fome mi racle done by him. Then he queftioned with him in ma ny words; but he answered him nothing. And the chie priefts and fcribes ftood & vehemently accufed him. And Herod with his men of war fet him at nought, & mocked

him, and arayed him in a gorgeous robe, and fent him again to Pilate. And the fame day Pilate and Herod were made friends together; for before they were at enmity between themselves. AndPilate when he had called together the chief priests, and the rulers, and the people, faid unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one hat perverteth the people,& behold, I having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching thofe things whereof ye accufe him: No, nor yet Herod: for I fent you to him, and lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him. I will therefore chaftife him, and releafe him. For of neceffity he must release one unto them at the feast. And they cryed out all at once, faying, Away with this man,and release unto us Barabbas: (who for a certain fedition made in the city, and for murder was caft in prifon) Pilate therefore willing to release Jefus, fpake again to them. But they cryed, faying, Crucifie him, Crucifie him. And he faid unto them the third time, Why,what evil hath he done? I have found no caufe of death in him: I will therefore chastife him, and let him go. And they were inftant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified: And the voices of them, and of the chief priests prevailed. And Pilate gave entence, that it fhould be as they required. And he releafed unto them, him that for fedition and murder was caft into prifon, whom they had defired; but he delivered Jefus to their will. And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon a Cyrenian, coming out of the countrey, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jefus. And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, who also bewailed and lamented him. But Jefus turning unto them, faid, Daughters of Jerufalem, weep not for me, but weep for your felves, and for your children. For behold, the days are coming, in which they shall fay,Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare,& the paps which never gave fuck. Then sho1

they begin to fay to the mountains, Fall on us; and to th hills,Cover us.For if they do these things in a green tree what fhall be done in the dry? And there were alfo tw other malefactors led with him to be put to death. An when they were come to the place which is is called Cal vary, there they crucified him; and the malefactors,on on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then fai Jefus,Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and caft lots. And the people ftood beholding; and the rulers alfo with them derided him, faying, He faved others, let him fave him felf,if he be Chrift the chofen of God. And the fouldiers alfo mocked him, coming to him,and offering him vine ger,and faying, If thou be the king of the Jews, fave thy Telf. And a fuperfcription alfo was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latine, andHebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. And one of the malefa ctors which were hanged, railed on him, faying, If tho be Chrift, fave thy felf and us. But the other anfwer ing, rebuked him, faying, Doft not thou fear God feeing thou art in the fame condemnation? And we in deed juftly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds but this man hath done nothing amifs. And he faid un to Jefus, Lord, remember me when thou comeft into thy kingdom. And Jefus faid unto him, Verily Ifar unto thee, To day fhalt thou be with me in paradife And it was about the fixth hour. And there was a dark refs over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the fun was darkned, and the vall of the temple was rent in the mid. And when Jefus had cryed with a loud voice,he faid, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having fald thus, he gave up the ghot. Now when the centurion law what was done, he glorified God faying, Certainly this was a righteous man. And all the people that came together to that fight, beholding the things that were done, finote their breafts and re turned. And all his acquaintance, and the women that
