ye

be REPROACHED for the Name of Christ, happy are ye; for the Spirit of Glory and of God resteth upon you: On their Part he is evil spoken of, but on your Part he is glorified.

2 Cor. iv. 8. We are TROUBLED on every side, yet not diftreffed ; we are perplexed, but not in Despair ;

9. Persecuted, but not forsaken ; CAST DOWN, but not destroyed;

io. Always bearing about in the Body, the Dying of the Lord Jesus, that the Life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our Body.

Phil. i. 12. But I would ye should understand, Brethren, that the Things which happened unto me, have fallen out rather unto the FURTHERANCE of the Gospel :

13. So that my Bonds in Christ are manifest in all the Palace, and in all other places. 29. For unto

it is given in the Behalf of Christ, not only to BELIEVE on him, but also to suffer for his sake.

13. Ye (i) are the Salt of the Earth : but if the Salt have lost his SAVOUR, wherewith shall it be falted ? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be troden under foot of Men.

Phil. i. 27. Only let your CONVERSATION be as it becometh the Gospel of Christ.

Chap. iii. 20. For our CONVERSATION is in Heaven, from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Pet. i. 15. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of CoNvERSATION :

18. Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible Things, as Silver and Gold, from your vain CONVERSATION received by Tradition from your Fathers, but with the PRECIOUS BLOOD of Christ.

2 Pet. iii. 11. Seeing then that all these Things shall be dissolved, what manner of Persons ought ye to be in all holy ConVERSATION and Godliness?

14. Ye are the Light of the WORLD. A City that is set on an Hill, cannot be hid.

15. Neither do Men light a Candle, and put it under a Bushel : but on a Candlestick, and it giveth Light to all that are in the House. 16. Let your Light so SHINE before Men, that they

(k) Psalm xxxvi. 9. For with thee is the Fountain of Life : and in thy Light Mall we see Light.

Ps. xliii. 3. O send out thy Light and thy Truth; let them lead me, bet them bring me into thy holy Hill, and to thy Tabernacles.

Pf. xcvii. 11. Light is sown for the Righteous, and Gladness for the upright in Heart.

PS. cxii. 4. Unto the UPRIGHT there ariseth Light in the Darkness.

Pf. cxix. 105. Thy Word is a LAMP unto my Feet, and a Light unto my Path.

130. The Entrance of thy Words giveth Light: it giveth UNDERSTANDING unto the Simple.

Ijai. 1. 10. Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obey. eth" the Voice of his Servant, that walketh in Darkness, and hath no Licht? let him trust in the Name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.

Chap. ix. 1. Arise, shine, for thy Light is come, and the GloRY of the Lord is risen upon thee.

20. Thy Sun shall no more go down, neither shall thy Moon withdraw itself : for the Lord shall be thine EveRLASTING LIGHT, and the Days of thy Mourning shall be ended.

Jobn viii. 12. Jesus said, I am the Light of the World: he that followeth me shall not walk in Darkness, but shall have the Light of Life.

Axts xiii. 47. For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, Į have set thee to be a Light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldit be for SALVATION unto the Ends of the Earth.

Rom. xii. 12. The Night is far spent, the Day is at hand : let us therefore cast off the Works of Darkness, and let us put on the ARMOUR of Light.

2 Cor. iv. 6. For God who commanded the Light to shine out of DARKNESS, hath shined in our Hearts, to give the Light of the Knowledge of the GLORY of God, in the Face of Jesus Cbrift. Ephef

. v. 8. For ye were sometimes Darkness, but now are ye Light in the Lord: walk as Children of Light.

Col. i. 12. Giving Thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the INHERITANCE of the Saints in LIGHT.

13. Who hath delivered us from the Power of DARKNESS, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of his dear Son.

1 Pet. ii. 9. But ye are a CHOSEN Generation, a Royal Priesthood, an holy Nation, a peculiar People; that ye should shew forth the Praises of him, who hath called you out of DARKNESS into his marvellous Light,

1 John i. 5. This is then the Message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, That God is Light, and in him is no DARKNESS at all.

6. If we say that we have Fellowship with him, and walk in Darkness, we lye, and do not the Truth:

7. But if we walk in the Light, as he is in the Light, we have Fellowíhip one with another, and the Blood of Jesus Chrijl his Son cleanseth us from all Sin.

17. Think (1) not that I am come to DESTROY the Law or the PROPHETS : I am not come to DESTROY, but to FULFIL.

18. For verily I say unto you, Till Heaven and EARTH pass, one Jot or one Tittle Shall in no wise pass from the İ.Aw, till all be FULFILLED.

26. Ought not Christ to have suffered thele Things, and to enter into his Glory?

Rom. xvi. 25. Now to him that is of Power to stablish you according to my Gospel, and the Preaching of Jejus Chrif (according to the Revelation of the Mystery which was kept secret since the World began,

26. But now is made manifest, and by the Scriptures of the Prophets, according to the Commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all Nations for the Obedience of Faith)

Heb. xii. 25. See that ye Refuse not him that speakeTH: for if they escaped not who refused him that spake on Earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from Heaven :

26. Whose Voice then shook the Earth : but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the Earth only, but also Heaven

27. And this Word, Yet once more, signifieth the Removing of those Things that are SHAKEN, as of Things that are made, that those Things which cannot be shAKEN may remain.

2 Pet. iii. 1. This second Epistle, beloved, I now write unto you ; in both which I ftir up your pure Minds, by way of remembrance :

2. That ye may be mindful of the WORDS which were spoken before by the Holy PROPHETS, and of the Commandment of us the Apostles of the Lord and Saviour :

3. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last Days Scoffers, walking after their own Lufts,

4. And saying, Where is the Promise of his Coming'? For since the Fathers fell asleep, all Things continue as they were from the Beginning of the Creation.

5. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the Word of God the Heavens were of old, and the Earth tanding out of the Water, and in the Water.

6. Whereby the World that then was, being overflowed with Water, perished.

7. But the Heavens and the Earth which are now, by the same WORD are kept in store, reserved unto Fire against the Day of JUDGMENT, and Perdition of UNGODLY Men.

19. Whosoever (m) therefore shall break one of these least COMMANDMENTS, and shall teach Men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of HEAVEN : But whosoever shall do, and teach them, the fame shall be called Great in the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

John xiv. 21. He that hath my COMMANDMENTS, and KEEPETH them, he it is that LOVETH me: and he that loveth me, shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest my self to him.

24. He that loveth me not, keepeth not my SAYINGS : and the Word which you hear, is not mine, but the Father's which sent

me.

1 John ii. 3. And hereby we know that we know him, if we KEEP his COMMANDMENTS.

4. He that faith, I know him, and keepeth not his COMMANDMENTS, is a Lear, and the Truth is not in him,

Rev. xxii. 14. Blessed are they that do his COMMANDMENTS, that they may have Right to the Tree of Life, and may enter in through the Gates into the City.

20. For (n) I say unto you, That except your RIGHTEOUSNESS shall cxceed the RIGHTEOUSNESS of the Scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the KING DOM of HEAVEN.

(n) Isaiah xxix. 13. The Lord faid, This People DRAW NEAR me with their Mouth, and with their Lips do honour me, but have removed their Heart far from me ; and their Fear towards me is taught by the Precept of Men.

Jer. vii. 3. Thus faith the LORD of Hosts, Amend your Ways and your Doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this Place.

4. Trust ye not in lying Words, saying, The Temple of the LORD, the Temple of the LORD, the Temple of the LORD are these.

8. Behold, ye trust in LYING WORDS, that cannot profit. 9. Will ye steal, murder, and commit Adultery, and swear fally?

10. And come and stand before me in this Houfe, which is cal. led by my Name, and say, We are delivered to do all these ABOMINATIONS ?

Ezek. xxxii. 12. Therefore thou Son of Man, fay unto the Children of thy People, The Righteousness of the RIGHTEous Thall not deliver him in the Day of his TRANSGRESSION: as for the Wickedness of the Wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the Day that he TURNEth from his Wickedness; neither shall the Righteous be able to live for his Righteousness, in the Day that he SINNETH.

31. And they come unto thee as the People cometh, and they sit before thee as my People, and they hear thy Words, but they will not do them : for with their Mouth they ihew much Love, but their Heart goeth after their Covetouiness.

Rom. ii. 17. Behold, thou art called a Jet', and resteft in the Law, and makest thy Boast of God; 18. And knowelt

' his Will, and approvest the Things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the Law.

22. Thou that sayst a Man should not commit Adultery, doit thou commit Adultery? Thou that abhorrest Idols, dost thou commit Sacrilege?

23. Thou that makest thy Boast of the Law, through breaking the Law, dishonoureft thou God?

Chap. viii. 13. For if ye live after the Flesh, ye shall DIE: but if ye through the Spirit do MORTIFY the Deeds of the Body, ye hali LIVE.
