About the author (2009)

Born in London in 1919 and brought up in Paris, John Stewart came to photography in the early 50s and worked for Harper's Bazaar under Alexei Brodovitch. He has also worked for Fortune, Look, Vogue, and Elle. His work is in major collections and museums around the world. Stewart lives in Paris and in Provence.
