Emprimatur : HENRICUS EDUARDUS, Cardinalis Archiepiscopus. PROTEST OF THE AUTHOR. THE Author humbly submits the following explanation of the "Catechism of Christian Doctrine " to the infallible judgment of the Holy Catholic Church. As allusion has been sometimes made therein to various miraculous events not yet pronounced upon by the Church, and also to the heroic deeds and saintly lives of certain holy souls not yet canonised, the Author hereby protests that whatever expressions he may have used in regard to such subjects throughout the work, are to be understood as relating to facts resting on mere human evidence, and without any intention of anticipating the future judgment of the Church.
