327. What is said respecting sinning against the Holy Spirit ?

Is. 63. 10. But they rebelled, and vexed his Holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy.

Mat. 12. 31. All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven bim, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Ac. 7. 51. Ye stiff-necked, and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost.

Ep. 4. 30. Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

328. What is said of keeping at home ?

Pr. 25. 17. Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbor's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.

329. What is the proper and chief object of hope? Ps. 42. 5. Hope thou in God. Rom. 5. 2. And rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 330. Is the full assurance of hope required ?

Heb. 6. 11. And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end. That ye be not slothsul, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

2 Pet. 1. 10. Give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.

331. Is the full assurance of hope attainable ? Job 19.25. I know that my Redeemer liveth. Rom. 8. 35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 37. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors, through him that loved us.

38, 39. 2 Tim. 4. 6. The time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Heb. 6. 19. Which hope we ha as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the vail.

333. Is hospitality exemplified ?

Gen. 18. 2. And he Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent doorAnd said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that

334. Ought we to be hospitable to strangers ?

Lev. 19. 10. Thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and the stranger. 33. And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Humility and Submission. 335. Are humility and submission towards God required?

Is. 45. 9. Wo unto him that striveth with his Maker! Rom. 9. 20, 21.

Mic. 6. 8. What doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Mat. 6. 9. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

Jam. 4. 7. Submit yourselves therefore to God. 10. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up:

1 Pet. 5.5. Be clothed with humility.

336. Are humility and submission towards God etenplified ?

Lev. 10. 2. And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, [Nadab and Abihu] and they died before the Lord- -And Aaron held his peace.

2 S. 15. 25. And David said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God unto the city: If I shall find favor in the eyes of the Lord, he will bring me again, and show me both it and his habitation: But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.

Jud. 10. 15. And the children of Israel said unto the Lord, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto theę.

337. Is humility a condition of salvation ?

Lev. 26. 41. If then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: Then will I remember my covenant.

Pr. 15. 33. Before honor is humility.

Lk. 18. 14. Every one that exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Jam. 4. 6. God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God.

338. Has God encouraged humility and submission ? Job 22. 29. He shall save the humble person. Ps. 9. 12. He forgetteth not the cry of the humble,
