Amusements.

10. What is said of mirth and amusements?

Job. 21. 11. They send forth their little ones like a flock and their children dance. They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ. They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.

Pr. 14. 13. Even in laughter the heart is sorrowfully and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

Pr. 21. 17. He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

Ec. 2. 1. I said in my heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure: and behold, this also is vanity. I said of laughter, It is mad: and of mirth, What doeth it.

Ec. 7.2. It is better to go to the house of mourning, han to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. row is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.

Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; aud let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. What concord hath Christ with Be

Ep. 2. 2. In time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. Ep. 6. 12. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

1 Pet. 5. 8. Your adversary the devil.

Rev. 9. 11. And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

Rev. 12. 9. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. The accuser of our brethren is cast down which accused them before our God day and night.

16. What is the moral character of Apostate angels? Jn. 8. 44. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do: he was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth; because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

2 Cor. 4. 4. The God of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

19. By what means do apostate angels lead mankind into sin and death?

Gen. 3. 13. The serpent beguiled me and I did eat. 2 Cor. 2. 11. Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

2 Cor. 11. 3. I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your mind should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. -14. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
