ISAIAH 56. 10, 11, 12.

IS Watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; fleeping, lying down, loving to flumber.

Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are fhepherds that cannot underftand they all look to their own way, every one for his gain from his quarter.

Come ye, fay they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill our felves with ftrong drink,and to morrow fhall be as this day, and much more abundant.

Jeremiah 1. 7, 8.

But the Lord faid unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou fhalt go to all that I fhall fend thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

Be not afraid of their Faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, faith the Lord.

Jeremiah 2. 8.

The priests faid not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law, knew me not the paftours alfo tranfgreffed against me, and the prophets prophefied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

Feremiah 5. 30, 31.

A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land.

The prophets prophefie falfely, and the priests bear rule by their means, and my people love to have it fo and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Jeremiah 6. 13, 14, 15.

For from the leaft of them, even unto the greatest of them, every one is given to covetoufnefs; and from the prophet even unto the priest, every one dealeth falfely.

They have healed also the hurt of the Daughter of my People slightly, faying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.

Were they afhamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all afhamed, neither could they blufh: therefore they fhall fall among them that fall: at the time that I vifit them, they fhall be caft down, faith the Lord.

Jeremiah 10. 21.

For the paftours are become brutish, and have not fought the Lord: therefore they fhall not profper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

Jeremiah 23. 1, 2, 3.

Wo be unto the paftours that deftroy and scatter the sheep of my pafture, faith the Lord.

Therefore thus faith the Lord God of Ifrael againft the paftours that feed my people, Ye have fcattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them; behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, faith the Lord.

And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countreys whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds, and they fhall be fruitful and increase.

Ezekiel 2. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

And he said unto me, Son of man, I fend thee to the children of Ifrael, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me; they and their fathers have tranfgreffed against me, even unto this very day.

For they are impudent children and stiff hearted: I do fend thee unto them, and thou fhalt fay unto them, Thus faith the Lord God.

And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear (for they are a rebellious houfe) yet fhall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

And thou, fon of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou doft dwell among fcorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

And thou fhalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, for they are most rebellious.

Ezek. 3. 17, 18, 19, 20, 21.

Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Ifrael: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

When I fay unto the wicked, thou fhalt furely die and thou giveft him not warning, nor fpeakeft to warn the wicked from his wicked way to fave his life: the fame wicked man fhall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickednefs, nor from his wicked way, he fhall die in his iniquity; but thou haft deliver'd thy foul,

Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his righteoufnefs, and commit iniquity, and I lay a ftumbling block before him, he fhall die: becaufe thou haft not given him warning, he fhall die in his fin, and his righteoufnefs which he has done, fhall not be remembred; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Nevertheless, if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous fin not, and he doth not fin; he fhall furely live, becaufe he is warned: alfa thou haft deliver'd thy foul.

Ezek. 22, 26.:

Her priests have violated my law, and have pro faned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they fhewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my fabbaths, and I am profaned among them. Da
