15 And the LORD GOD took the Man, and put him into the Garden of Eden, to drefs it and to keep it.


Ezek. xxviii. 13 Thou haft been in Eden the Garden of GOD.

15 Thou waft perfe& in thy Ways from the Day that thou waft created, till Iniquity was found in thee.

16 And the LORD commanded the Man, faying, Of every Tree of the Garden thou mayft freely eat:

17 But of the Tree of the Knowledge of GooD and EVIL, thou shalt not eat of it for in the Day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt SURELY DIE.

18 And the LORD GOD faid, It is not good that the Man fhould be alone: I will make him an help meet for him.

19 And out of the Ground the LORD GOD formed every Beaft of the Field, and every Fowl of the Air, and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them and whatfoever Adam called every living Creature, that was the Name thereof.

zo And Adam gave Names to all the Cattle, and to the Fowls of the Air, and to every Beast of the Field: but for Adam there was not found an Help meet for him.

21 And the LORD GOD caufed a deep Sleep to fall upon Adam, and he flept: and he took one of his Ribs, and clofed up the Flesh in ftead thereof.

22 And the Rib, which the LORDGOD had taken from Man, made he a Woman, and brought her to the Man.

23 And Adam said, This is row Bone of my Bones, and Flesh of my Flefh fhe fhal be called Woman, becufe fhe was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore fhall a Man leave his Father and his Mother, and shall cleave unto his Wife and they fhall be one

25 And they were both naked, the Man and his Wife, and were not ashamed.

W the Serpent was more fubtil than any Beaft of the Field which the LORD GOD had made: and he said unto the Woman, Yea, hath GOD faid, Ye fhall not eat of every Tree of the Garden?

2 And the Woman faid unto the Serpent, We may eat of the Fruit of the Trees of the Garden:

3 But of the Fruit of the Tree which is in the midst of the Garden, GOD hath faid, Ye fhall not eat of it, neither fhall ye touch it, left ye die.

4 And the Serpent faid unto the Woman, Ye fhall not furely die.

8 And they heard the Voice of the LORD GOD walking in the Garden in the Cool of the Day: and Adam and his Wife hid themfelves from the Prefence of the LORD GOD amongst the Trees of the Garden.

9 And the LORD GOD called unto Adam, and faid unto him, Where art thou?

10 And he faid, I heard thy Voice in the Garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid my felf.

II And he faid, Who told thee that thou waft naked? haft thou eaten of the Tree whereof I commanded thee, that thou fhouldft not eat?

12 And the Man faid, The Woman whom thou gavest to be with me, fhe gave me of the Tree, and I did eat.

13 And the LORD GOD faid unto the Woman, What is this that thou haft done? And the Woman faid, The Serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

14 And the LORD GOD faid unto the Serpent, Because thou haft done this, thou art curfed above all Cattle, and above every Beaft of the Field: upon thy Belly fhalt thou go, and Duft fhalt thou eat all the

.15 And I will put Enmity between thee and the Woman, and between thy Seed and her SEED: it fhall BRUISE thy Head, and thou fhalt bruife his Heel.

16* Unto the Woman he faid, I will greatly multiply thy Sorrow and thy Conception; in Sorrow thou fhalt bring forth Children and thy Defire fhall be to thy Hufband, and he fhall rule over thee.

17 And unto Adam hė faid, Because thou haft hearkned unto the Voice of thy Wife, and haft eaten of the

22 And the LORD GOD faid, Behold, the Man is become as one of us, to know Good and Evil. And now left he put forth his Hand, and take also of the Tree of Life, and eat, and live for ever:

23 Therefore the LORD GOD fent him forth from the Garden of Eden, to till the Ground, from whence he was taken.

24 So he drove out the Man and he placed at the Eaft of the Garden of Eden, Cherubims, and a flaming Sword which turned every Way, to keep the Way of the Tree of Life.

Pfal. xc. 5 Thou carrieft them away as with a Flood, they are as a Sleep in the Morning they are like Grafs which groweth up.

6 In the Morning it flourisheth, and groweth up in the Evening it is cut down, and withereth.

10 The Days of our Years are THREESCORE YEARS and TEN; and if by reason of Strength they be fourfcore Years, yet is their Strength LABOUR and SORKOW: for it is foon cut off, and we fly away.

12 So teach us to number our Days, that we may apply our Hearts unto Wisdom.

14 Like Sheep they laid in the Grave, Death fhall feed on them; and the Upright fhall have Dominion over them in the Morning, and their Beauty thall confume in the Grave, from their Dwelling.
