NATIONAL RELIGION: OR, THE VOICE OF GOD TO THE BRITISH CHURCH AND NATION. BY THE REV. R. SHITTLER CURATE OF MELCOMBE HORSEY, NEAR BLANDFORD, DORSET. A SODLE "He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God."-2 Sam. xxiii. 3. LONDON: FRANCIS BAISLER, 124, OXFORD STREET; FRASER & Co., EDINBURGH. 1838. 512. BIB ADVERTISEMENT. THE subject of the foregoing page is intended to be developed in a series of discourses on the interesting conditions of man in his personal, relative, and associated existence. In the prosecution of this design the doctrines enforced will be found such as are based upon the character, and agreeable to the perfections, of the moral Governor of the world, and connected with the responsible relations of the intelligent work of his hands, the object of his bounty, and the subject of his regard, as exhibited in the sacred volume. The whole is proposed as a feeble and humble attempt to aid the furtherance of man's present and eternal happiness, and promote the honour and glory of the supreme Lord of all, in accordance with the title which designates the entire undertaking. |
