MR. VEITCH was born at Roberton, in t of Clydesdale, seven miles from Lanark, that presbytery, in the year of our Lor April 27. He was the youngest child John Veitch,* minister of that place for th of about forty-five years. His mother pious and frugal woman, very dexterous in keeping and educating of children; wh husband knew little of as to family affairs name was Elizabeth Johnston, a me daughter in Glasgow.
