COLLECT. Deus, qui. O God, who hast en lightened thy church by the eminent virtues and preaching of blessed Dominic, thy confessor; grant. V. that by his prayers we may be provided against all temporal necessities, and daily improve in all spiritual good. Thro'.

GRAD. The just shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow up like the cedar of Libanus in the house of the Lord. V. To shew forth thy mercy in the morning, and thy truth in the night. OFFERT. Ps. lxxxviii. My truth and my mercy are with him, and in my name shall his power be exalted.

SECRET. Sanctify, O Lord, the gifts we have offered thee, and by the merits of blessed Dominie, thy confessor, grant that they may be healing to us Thro'.

COMM. This is the faithful and prudent servant, whom the Lord placed over his family, to give them their measure of wheat in due season.

COLLECT. Deus, qui. O God, who by the testimony of the prophets, didst confirm the mysteries of our faith in the glorious transfiguration of thy Son, and by a voice from heaven shewedst us that we are thy adopted children; mercifully grant that we may be heirs to the King of Glory, and partakers of his bliss. EPISTLE. 2 Peter, i. 16, 19. Dearly Beloved: We have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ: but having been made eye-witnesses of his majesty. For, he received from God the Father honour and glory: this voice coming down to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son in whom I have pleased myself, hear ye him. And this voice we heard brought from heaven, when we were with him in the holy mount.And we have the more prophetical word: whereunto you do well to attend, as to a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts.

EPISTLE. 1 Thes. ii. 13. Brethren: We also give thanks to God without ceasing: because that when you have received of us the word of the hearing of God, you received it not as the word of men, but (as it is indeed) the word of God, who worketh in you that have believed. For you, brethren, are become followers of the churches of God which are in Judea, in Christ Jesus: for you also have suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they have from the Jews: who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us, and they pleased not God, and are adversaries to all men: prohibiting us to speak to the Gentiles, that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always for the wrath of God is come upon them to the end.

GOSPEL. Mark xvi. 15, 18. At that time: Jesus said to his disciples: Go ye into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth, and is baptized, shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be condemned.
