COLLECT. Omnipotens. O Almighty and eter" nal God, who, in the abundance of thy goodness, exceedest both the merits and requests of thy suppliants ; pour forth thy mercy upon us : and both pardon what our consciences dreadeth, and grant such blessings as we dare not presume to ask. Thro'.

EPISTLE. 1 Cor. xv. 1, 10.- -Brethren :I make known unto you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand, by which also you are saved : if you hold fast after what manner I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all, which I also received : how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures : and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures : and that he was seen by Cephas; and after that by the eleven. Then was he seen by more than five hundred brethren at once ; of whom many remain until this present, and some are fallen asleep. After that he was seen by James, then by all the apostles: and last of all, he was seen also by me, as by one born out of due time. For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am ; and his grace in me hath not been void.

GRAD. Ps. xxvij. My heart trusted in God, and I was relieved : and my body hath recovered its strength : and I will praise him with my whole heart. V. To thee, O Lord, have I cried out : be not silent, O my God, nor depart from me. Alleluia.

V. Ps. Exult in God our hope: joyfully sing to the God of Jacob : sing a hymn of joy upon the harp. Alleluia.

GOSPEL. Mark vi. 13, 37. At that time : Jesus going out of the coast of Tyre, he came by Sidon to the sea of Galilee through the midst of the coast of Decapolis. And they bring to him one

COLLECT. Omnipotens. O Almighty and mercital God, from whose gift it proceedeth that thy people worthily serve thee; grant we beseech thee, that we may run on, without stumbling, to the obo. taining the effects of thy promises. Thro'.

EPISTLE. 2 Cor. jü. 4,9. Brethren: We have confidence through Christ towards God : not that we are sufficient to think any thing of ourselves as of ourselves : but our suficiency is froin God. Who also hath made us fit ministers of the New Testainent, not in the letter but in the spirit.

For the leiter killeth: but the spirit quickeneth. Now if the ininistration of death, engraven with letters upon stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel' could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses, for the glory of his countenance, which is made void : how shall not the ministration of the Spirit be rather in glory ? For if the ininistration of condemnation be ylory, much more the ministration of justice aboundetb in glory:

GRAD. Ps. xxxiji. I will bless the Lord at all tines; his praise shall be always in my mouth. V. In the Lord shall my soul be praised : let the mcek licar and rejoice.

V. O Lord, the God of my salvation. I have
Cried in the day and in the night before thee. Allel.

GOSPEL. Luke x. 23, 37. At that time : Jesus said to buis disciples : Blessed are the eyes that see the things which you see.

For I say to you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see llic things that you see, and have not seen them ; and to hear the things that you hear, and have not lieard them. And behold a certain lawyer stood up, tempting hirn: and saying : Master, what must I do to possess eternal life? But he said to him : What is written in the law? How readest thou ? He answering said: “ Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind : and

thy neighbour as thyself.” And he said to him : Thou hast answered" right : this do and thou shalt live. But he willing to justify himself, said to Jesus, , and who is my neighbour ? And Jesus answering, said : A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who had stripped him, and having wounded him, went away leaving him half dead. And it chanced that a certain priest went down the same way; and seeing him, passed by. In like manner also a levite, when he was near the place, and saw him, passed by. But a certain Samaritan being on his journey, came near him; and seeing him, was moved with compassion. And going up to him, bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine ; and setting him upon his own beast brought him to an inn, and took care of bim. And the next day be took out two

shewed mercy to him. And Jesus said to him ; Go, and do thou in like manner. Tkie Creed.

OFFERT. Exod. xxxii. Moses prayed in the presence of the Lord his God, and said ; Wbs, o Lord, art thou angry at thy people ? Spare the wrath of thy soul; remember Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. to whom thou didst swear to give a land flowing with milk and honey ; and the Lord was and did not do the mischief he had threatened his people.

HAVE regard to thy covenant, o Lord, and abandon not the souls of thy poor; arise, O Lord, judge thine own cause, and forget not the cries of those who seek thee. Ps. Why, O God, hast thou cast us off unto the end : why is thy wrath kindled against the sheep of thy pasture ? V. Glory.

COLLECT. Omnipotens. O Almighty and eter: nal God, grant us an increase of faith, hope, and charity; and, that we may deserve what thou promisest, make us love what tħou commandest. Thro'.

EPISTLE. Gal. iii. 16, 22. Brethren: To Abraham were the promises made and to his seed. He saith not, and to his seeds as of many ; but as of one, and to thy seed, which is Christ. Now this I say, that the testament which was confirmed by God, the law which was made after four hundred and thirty years, doth not disannul, or make the promise of no effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise. But God gave it to Abraham by promise. Why then was the law? It was set because of transgressions, until the seed should come, to whom he made the promise, being ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not of one: but God is one.

Was the law then against the promises of God? God forbid. For if there had been a law given which could give life, verily justice should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the pro
