Paul' S soul was deeply imbued with the Spirit of the gospel. His one grand object, of which he never lost sight, from the hour of his conversion to the hour of his death, was to display the glory of Christ in rescuing from sin and its eternal couse quences, the greatest possible number of his fellow men. The moment his eyes were opened upon the divine mysteries of the cross, the luxury of wealth, the splendor of courts, and the trump of worldly fame, lost all their charms.
