And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not : the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. Καὶ οὐκ ἐθέλησεν ἐπὶ χρόνον· μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα εἶπεν ἐν ἑαυτῷ· Εἰ καὶ τὸν Θεὸν οὐ φοβοῦμαι, καὶ ἄνθρωπον οὐκ ἐντρέπομαι· And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; γε VER. 5. Διά τὸ παρέχειν μοι κόπον τὴν χήραν ταύτην, ἐκδικήσω αὐτήν, ἵνα μὴ εἰς τέλος ἐρχομένη ὑπωπιάξῃ με. Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. VER. 6. Εἶπε δὲ ὁ Κύριος· ̓Ακούσατε τί ὁ κριτὴς τῆς ἀδικίας λέγει· And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. A. In flaming fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testiday, 2 Thess. i. 610. And they cried mony among you was believed) in that with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them ; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, their brethren, that should be killed until their fellow-servants also, and as they were, should be fulfilled, Rev. vi. 10, 11. c Cast not away therefore your conhdence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience; that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
