PREFACE.

IN venturing to present these Stories to the Public, I cannot but feel apprehensive as to the reception they may meet with; and in spite of the kind encouragement I have received from many friends, I dare not feel sure that I am not obtruding wearisome pages upon the reader, instead of a little volume of Instructive Scripture Narrative.

Last year, having, at my dear deceased parent's request, written the Life of Moses, in stories similar to these, of which a few copies were printed and circulated amongst my friends, I received many flattering opinions of my performance;
