Promises of the CONVERSION and RESTORATION of the JEWS. ! Jer. xxx. 9. They shall serve the LORD their GOD, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them. Ver. 10. Therefore fear not thou, O my fervant Jacob, faith the LORD, neither be thou dismayed, O Ifrael; for lo, I will fave thee from afar, and thy feed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest and quiet, and none shall make him afraid. See to the end of the Chapter. Jer. xxxi. 1. At the fame time, faith the LORD, will I be the GOD of all the families of Ifrael, and they shall be my people. Ver. 4. Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Ifrael; thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry. Ver. 10. Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare it in the ifles afar off, and fay, He that scattered Ifrael will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. Ver. 17. There is hope in thine end, that thy children shall come again to their own border. Ver. 31. Behold, the days come, faith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Ifrael, and with the house of Judah: Ver. 32. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, &c. Ver. 33. But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Ifrael: After those days, faith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts: and I will be their GOD, and they shall be my people. And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Ifrael to return, and will build them as at the first. Ver. 8. And I will cleanse them from all their iniquities, &c. Ver. 9. And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth which shall hear of all the good I do unto them, ४८. Ver. 15. In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David, and he shall execute judgment and justice in the land. Ver. 16. In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerufalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our rightcousness. Ver. 24. Confiderest thou not, what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chofen, he will cast them off; &c. Ver. 25. Thus faith the LORD, If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth : Ver. 26. Then will I cast away the feed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his feed to be rulers over the feed of Abraham, Ifaac, and and Jacob; for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy upon them. Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant. Ver. 61. Thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger (Sodom and Samaria, ver. 55.) and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant. Ver. 62, 63. Ezek. xx. 34. I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand Ver. 35. And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. Ver. 37. And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the cove nant. Ver. 38. And will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that tranfgrefs against me. Ver. 40. In my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Ifrael, faith the LORD GOD, there shall all the house of Ifrael, all of them in the land, serve me; there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first-fruits of your oblations, with all your holy things. Ver. 24. I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Ver. 26. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean; from all your filthiness, and from all your idols will I cleanse you. Ver. 27. A new heart also will I give you, &c. Ver. 33.
