Ver. 7. With good-will doing fervice, as to the LORD, and not unto men ;

Ver. 8. Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doth, the same shall he receive of the LORD, whether he be bond or free.

Col. iii. 22. Servants, obey in all things your maf ters according to the flesh, &c.

Ver. 24. Knowing, that of the LORD ye fhall receive the reward of the inheritance: For ye ferve the LORD Christ.

V. To GOOD KINGS and MAGISTRATES.

Deut. xvii. 18. And it fhall be, when he fitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he fhall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites.

Ver. 19. And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear the LORD his GOD, to keep all the words of this law, and these statutes, to do them :

Ver. 20. That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, nor to the left; to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midft of Ifrael.

Prov. xvi. 12. The throne is established by righteousness.

Prov. xx. 28. Mercy and truth preserve the king, and his throne is upholden by mercy.

Prov. xxix. 14. The king that faithfully judges the poor, his throne fhall be established forever."

If. xxviii. 6. In that day fhall the LORD of hosts be for a Spirit of judgment to them that fit in judg

VI. To OBEDIENT SUBJECTS.

2 Pet. ii. 13. Submit yourselves to every ordinance of men for the LORD's fake; whether it be to the king, as fupreme :

Ver. 14. Or unto governors, as unto them that are fent by him for the punishment of evil doers, and for the praise of them that do well.

Ver. 15. For fo is the will of GOD, that with well doing you may put to filence the ignorance of foolish

men.

Eccl. viii. 5. Whofo keepeth the commandment [the king's] fhall feel no evil thing; and a wise man's heart difcerneth both time and judgment.

VII. To FAITHFUL MINISTERS.

Luke xii. 42. Who is that faithful and wife ftew ard whom his lord fhould make ruler over his houfehold, to give them their portion of meat in due feafon ?

Ver. 43. Bleffed is that fervant whom his lord, when he cometh, fhall find fo doing.

Ver. 44. Of a truth, I fay unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

Matt. xxviii. 20. Teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you : And lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

1 Tim. iv. 16. Take heed unto thyself, and to thy doctrine; continue in them: For in doing this, thou fhalt both fave thyself, and them that hear thee.

I Pet. V. 2. The elders which are among you, exhort, Feed the flock of GOD which is among you,

taking the overfight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind : Ver. 3. Neither as being lords over GOD's heritage, but being enfamples to the flock :

Ver. 4. And when the chief fhepherd fhall appear, ye fhall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not

away.

If. xxxii. 20. Bleffed are ye that fow befide all waters, that fend forth thither the feet of the ox and the afs.

I. xlix. 4. Then I faid, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my ftrength for nought, and in vain ; yet furely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my GOD.

John iv. 16. And he that reapeth, receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that foweth, and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

Rev. ii. 1. These things, faith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand.

Pf. cxxxii. 16. I will clothe her priests with falvation, and her faints fhall fhout aloud for joy.

Jer. xxxi. 14. And I will fatiate the foul of the priests with fatnefs, and my people fhall be fatisfied. with my goodness, faith the LORD.

Fer. i. 7. The LORD faid unto me, Say not, I am a child; for thou fhalt go to all that I send thee ; and whatsoever I command thee, thou fhalt speak.

Ver. 8. Be not afraid of their faces, for I am with thee to deliver thee, faith the LORD.

Ver. 19. They fhall fight against thee, but fhall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, faith the LORD, to deliver thee.

Jer. xv. 19. Thus faith the LORD, If thou return then will I bring thee again, and thou fhalt ftand before me and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou fhalt be as my mouth; let them return unto thee, but return not thou unto them.

Ver. 20. And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brazen wall, and they fhall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee, &c.

Ver. 21. And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked; and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

Jer. xx. 11. The LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one; therefore my perfecutors fhall ftumble, and they fhall not prevail they fhall be greatly afhamed, for they fhall not profper: their everlasting confufion fhall never be forgotten.

Ezek. iii. 8. Behold I have made thy face ftrong against their faces, and thy forehead ftrong against their foreheads.

Ver. 9. As an adamant, harder than flint, have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dif mayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Matt. x. 19. And when they fhall deliver you up, take no thought how or what you shall speak; for it fhall be given you in that same hour what you fhall speak.

VIII. To them that RECEIVE and HEARKEN to MINISTERS.

Matt. x. 40. He that receiveth you, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that fent me. (So John xiii. 20.)

Ver. 41. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, fhall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, fhall receive a righteous man's reward.

Luke xi. 16. He that heareth you, heareth me. 2 Chron. XX. Believe in the LORD your GOD, fo fhall you be established; believe his prophets, fo fhall you profper.

IX. To LovE and UNITY.

Pf. cxxxiii. 1. Behold, how good and how pleafant is it for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Ver. 2. It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard, that went down to the skirts of his garments.

Ver. 3. As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that defcended upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the bleffing, even life for

evermore.

1 John ii. 10. He that loveth his brother, abideth in the light, and there is none occafion of stumbling

in him.

John xiii. 35. By this fhall all men know that ye are my difciples, if ye have love one to another.
