1 Sam. ii. 30. Them that honour me, I will honour.
Prov. iii. 9. Honour the LORD with thy fubftance, and with the firft-fruits of all thine increase.
Ver. 10. So fhall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy preffes fhall burst out with new wine.
VIII. To PRAYER.
Job xxxiii. 26. He fhall pray unto God, and he fhall be favourable unto him, and he fhall fee his face with joy.
Exod. xxxiv. 24. Neither fhall any man defire thy land, when thou fhalt go up to appear before the LORD thy GOD, thrice in the year.
Deut. iv. 7. What nation is there fo great, who hath GOD fo nigh unto them, as the LORD our GOD is in all things that we call upon him for?
Pf. x. 17. LORD thou haft heard the defire of the humble thou wilt prepare their heart; thou wilt caufe thine ear to hear.
Pf. vi. 9. The LORD hath heard my fupplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.
Pf. xvii. 3. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; fo fhall I be faved from mine enemics.
Pf. lv. 17. Evening, morning, and at noon will I pray, and cry aloud, and he fhall hear my voice.
Pf. lxxiii. 28. It is good for me to draw near to GOD.
Pf. lxxxvi. 5. Thou, LORD, art good, and ready to forgive, and plenteous in mercy to all them that call upon thee.
Ver. 7. In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee, for thou wilt anfwer me.
Pf. cxlv. 18. The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him; to all that call upon him in truth. Jer. xxxiii. 3. Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and fhew thee great and mighty things which thou knoweft not.
Joel ii. 32. Whofoever shall call upon the name of
the LORD fhall be delivered.
Rom. x. 12. The fame LORD over all, is rich unto all that call upon him.

James iv. 8. Draw nigh to GOD, and he will draw nigh to you.
Job xxii. 21. Acquaint thyfelf with him, and be at peace; for thereby good fhall come unto thee.
Ezek. xxxvi. 37. I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Ifrael, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.
Heb. iv. 14. Seeing then that we have a great high prieft, that is paffed into the heavens, Jefus the Son of GOD, let us hold faft our profeffion.
Ver. 15. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without fin.

Deut. iv. 7. 29. If thou fhalt feek the LORD thy GOD, thou shalt find him ; if thou feek him with all thy heart, and with all thy foul.
1 Chron. xxviii. 9. If thou feek him, he will be found of thee.
Job viii. 5. If thou wouldst feek unto GOD be
times, and make thy fupplication unto the Almighty.
Ver. 6. If thou wert pure and upright, furely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness profperous.
Pf. ix. 10. Thou, LORD, haft not forsaken them that feek thee.
Your heart fhall live, that seek
If. xlv. 19. I faid not unto the feed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain.
Jer. xxix. 13. Ye shall feek me, and find me, when fhall fearch for me with all your heart. Hof. x. 12. Seek the LORD till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
Amos v. 4. Seek ye me, and ye fhall live.

Lam. iii. 25. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him; unto the foul that feeketh him.
As xvii. 27. That they fhould feek the LORD, if haply they might feel after him, and find him.

2 Chron. XV. 2. The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; if ye feek him, he will be found of you.
Ezra viii. 22. The hand of our GOD is upon all them for good that seek him.
Matth. vi. 6. Thou, when thou Secret Prayer. prayeft, enter into thy closet, and when thou haft fhut the door, pray to thy Father which is in fecret: and thy Father, which feeth in fecret, fhall reward thee openly.
Pf. xix. 30. I will praife the name of GOD with a fong, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
Ver. 31. This alfo fhall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock, that hath horns and hoofs.
Pf. xcii. 1. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to fing praises unto thy name, O Moft High!
Ver. 2. To fhew forth thy loving kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.
Pf. CXXXV. 3. Praife ye the LORD, for the LORD is good: Sing praises unto his name, for it is pleafant.
Matt. v. 6. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they fhall be filled.
If. lv. 1. Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money: Come ye, buy and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk, without money, and without price.
John vii. 37. Jefus ftood and cried, faying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
Ver. 38. He that believeth on me, as the fcripture hath faid, out of his belly fhall flow rivers of water.
Rev. xxi. 6. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end; I will give unto him that is athirst, of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Rev. xxii. 17. And let him that is athirft come; and whofoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

IX. To WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE, and the STUDY of it.
Prov. iii. 13. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom; and the man that getteth understanding.
To the Wife.
Ver. 14. For the merchandise of it is better than
the merchandise of filver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
Ver. 15. She is more precious than rubies; and all the things thou canst desire, are not to be compared unto her.
Ver. 16. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
Ver. 17. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
Ver. 18. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her ; and happy is every one that retaineth her.
Ver. 35. The wife fhall inherit glory.
Prov. iv. 6. Forfake her not, and she shall preserve thee: Love her, and she shall keep thee.
Ver. 8. Exalt her, and fhe fhall promote thee: She fhall bring thee to honour, when thou doft embrace her.
Ver. 9. She fhall give to thine head an ornament grace; a crown of glory fhall fhe deliver to thee. Prov. i. 5. A wife man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding fhall attain unto wife counfels :
Ver. 6. To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wife, and their dark fayings.
Prov. viii. 35. Whofo findeth me [Wifdom] findeth life, and fhall obtain favour of the LORD.
Prov. ix. 12. If thou be wife, thou shalt be wise for thyfelf.
Prov. x. 17. He is in the way of life, that keepeth inftruction; but he that refufeth reproof, erreth.
Prov. xii. 8. A man shall be commended according to his wifdom.
Prov. xiii. 15. Good understanding gives favour. Prov. xv. 24. The way of life is above to the wife, that he may depart from hell beneath.
