Thy warlike Hoft bring by thy care
To proper regulation.

12. That we'd run for thee willingly,
If ev'n thro' Fire directed,

Is well; but for thy Name should be
More real Things effected.

13. Therefore, e'er we're fent forth,
by thee:

Let us be well prepared,
That of the Warriors Garland we
Well worthy be declared.

14. But oh! what great things do I
fee

In Spirit's contemplation, When I reflect respectfully

On th' Perfect Congregation.

Heb. xii. 23.

15. There fits the princely Company
Of thofe who did furrender,
For the Lamb's fake, moft willingly
Their Lives and worldly Grandeur

But by th' above Jerufalem

That Moment he's embraced. 21. Ye, who in the Lamb's Presence

Was 'mong their Tombs interred. 18. The Spouse of souls hath to his Throne

Many of us tranflated,
Having from mortal flesh and bone
The fpirit feparated.

19. Flock of the Lord! for aught
thou know'ft,

"T may from thy Habitation, A Sabbath's journey be at most To th' perfect Congregation.

"Twixt Reproach and Fame,
As if Salamander

Struggled in the flame?
Yet the Congregation

Thinks this only thing
Worth her Meditation,
The Blood-water Spring.
Still, Lamb's Wife, continue
In fuch fimple mind;

To the Corpfe of Jefu,
Tortur'd for thee, join'd.
Sure the Church hath nothing,
No Ends of her own;
Would her God do something?
Without toil 'tis done.

4. He hath (thou didst hear it)
Pow'r enough ordain'd
In the Holy Spirit

And the Father's Hand;
Who, while He at present
Refts from all his Pain,
Execute inceffant

All his mark'd-out Plan: 5. Ye dear Souls blood-nourish'd! Who, thro' Jefu's grace, Have our Hall replenish'd 'Fore the Angels face; Who have this injunction, Lamb! and always Lamb! To repeat with Unction: Fetch thence Fire and flame. 6. Ye too, who fit yonder

Fill'd with Crofs's Zeal! You like nothing better,

Than when Blood founds well
From th' heart of each Witness,
And each Singer's throat,
And doth fink with fweetness

In your Senfe and thought.
7. He, whofe Soul invented
How his Church to keep,
While the Scars were printed
On his Back fo deep;
Be fill to that People,
Now Moravian styl'd,
(He knows their true Title)
By the Blood reveal'd!

And did appear in Chrift the Mar,
To reconcile the World again;
2. And not impute, out of free
Grace,

To them their Sins and trefpaffes,
But to forgive all they had done,
And crucify for them his Son.
3. He hath for us the Penance done,
That Works we here might let alone,
And in his Crofs might take fuch
fhare,

As tho' we crucified were.

4. Now God intreats the finners all, Whom Satan's Lies have caus'd to fall,

That they would all be well content, Since he to them the Lamb hath fent.

5. A Spectacle God made him there,
As tho' but he the Sinner were:
On the accurfed Cross's wood
The Lamb did pay our debts by
Blood.

6. He took them all upon his Head,
That all the finners might be glad, ¦
And thank him for the Pain be bore,
And for his wound-holes evermore.
7. One ftands amaz'd, undoubtedly,
To believe with all fimplicity,
That one's redeem'd from Death and
pain,

Merely because the Lamb was flain. 8. The Spirit, truly, ftill fays, Yes; And what ftrong pow'r could hinder this?

And now 'tis done, thanks be to God!

Eternal Truth! he fhed his Blood!

9. True, 'tis above a Thousand Year, That he was thro`-bor'd with a spear; Yet fix thereon our Faith we may, As if 'twere done but yesterday. 10. Of this we now fhall witness bear, And loudly call to every ear:

Yea thousands, to him done!
I can for love-tears fcarce find
pow'r
Juft to relate the Matter o'er:

His Wounds yourselves there look
upon!

6. Since, at a certain Hour, thereof
I once obtain'd fome taste and proof,
Out of myself indeed

I've been tranfported, melted down,
And my whole heart thereby fo

won,

That I can think of nought befide. 7. In lying down to take my Reft; In getting up, in being dress'd;

Whenever my voice founds;
In eating, drinking; on the Way;
In being fick; by night, by day,

I want the Aid of Jefu's wounds.
8. The Lamb, with all his Grief
and smart,

Remains the pleasure of my Heart,

Long as it moves in me:

Yea, even when it beats no more, There, where the spear his fide did bore,

I have my Place eternally!

For ever bleffed

Holy M

Man of Smart !
For man's curfe diftreffed,

Griev'd and wounded Heart!
My poor foul does languish,
Pine and thirst for Thee,
I feel holy anguish;
Thinking wearies me.

2. When I come before thee,

When I to thee,
pray

When thy Wounds bright Glory

I feel inwardly;

When I have perceived

In my heart that Shine;

I am oft fo grieved,

That worm-like I twine.

3. When thou would'st receive me;

I think on my Flight,

And could, 'caufe I grieve thee,
Curfe myself outright:

Then comes to remembrance,
That I, doubtless, am
My dear Lamb's Incumbrance,
. His grief and his shame.
4. But, this notwithstanding,
I have fomething got,
On which I'm depending,
A thrice happy Lot:
Thou art yet inflamed
: Towards me, and true;
Though I am ashamed,

Yet I've Courage too.
5. To his Love's embraces
Now arriv'd I am,
To the tender Mercies

Of the flaughter'd Lamb;
I have the bleft Function,

Grace and Truth to teach,
And, with holy unction,
Jefu's Crofs to preach.
6. Thus we'll live for Jefus,
As his Sinner-band,

For all thy Servants out;
Thou haft brought it about,
That we poor babes now are
To enter on our Care.

2. We are fent in thy Name,
Blefs us, High priest and Lamb!
Give us a chearful mind;
Let us thy Mercy find
Preparing all our Ways;
And hear what our Heart prays.
3. Bedew with thy own Blood
Our field, and make it good:
When Words or Tears we fow,
Let thy Blood make them grow.
From thee we Life receive,
T'exalt thy Wounds we live.

Jefus Chriftus blick dich an.

Efus Chrift look upon thee, • Holy Congregation!

Thou art his, because that he
Purchas'd thy falvation.

2. Friendly is his Countenance,
Gives thee recreation;
But thou must of confequence

Not fwerve from thy Station. 3. Stay in his School, as 'tis due ;

At his Throne adore him; Be to him faithful and true,

Pure and chafte before him.

4. Beg, that thy Grace be encreas'd
In number and measure;

And abide, tho' here oppreft,
She that gives him Pleasure.

Hriftian Church of Jefus,
Flock of God, whom He

To adorn here pleases
With his Infamy!

All thy pains and labours,
All thy troubles great,
For th' fouls of thy Neighbours,
Are to him of weight.
2. But canft thou endure it,
That fo many a one,
Who might yet be cured,

Seems to lie undone ?
God, whofe Benediction

Sav'd thee, does expect,
Thou shouldft with affection
On loft Souls reflect.

3. Lives he not, who faved
Thee from Ruin's brink?
Are they more depraved?

This thou canst not think:
Or is fuch Compaffion

For them in no heart,
As for thy Salvation

Gave to others fmart?
4. If fouls poor, yet precious,
Who're not in Church care,
Do not come to Jefus

His Wounds, where we are,
To that great Salvation

Which without toil's found; Then like Lamentations

All our hymns will found. 5. As once holy David

'Midft his joy did moan,
Griev'd and fad behaved

O'er his rebel-Son;
So, for grief and sadness,

Mother-hearts can't fhout,
When they, 'midft their gladness,
Think on those without.
