1-3. "Βut rise, andstand upon Ε feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness-both of these things which thou hastseen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee, Αcts xxvi. 16. Τhat I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles πmight be acceptable, being sanctified by the Ηoly Ghost, Rom, xv. 16. sight : for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Βut now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets ; Εven the righteousness of God, which is by faith of Jesus Christ, μnto all and upon all them that believe : forthere is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, Βeing justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus : Whom God hath setforth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission ofsins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Το declare, I saw, at this time, his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then ! It is exεluded. Βy what law ! of works και Νay, but by the law of faith, Τherefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is he the Godofthe Jews only ! is he not also of the Gentiles: Υés, of the Gentiles also: Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do wethen make void the law through faith: God forbid: yea, we establish the law, Rom. iii. 19-31. Concerning zeal, persecuting the church , touching the righteousness, which is in the law, blameless. . Βut what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Υea doubtless, and I count all things out loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and docount them but dung, that I may win Christ, Αnd be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith, Phil. iii. 6-9. Forwe ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts andpleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, αnd hating one another. Βut after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Νot by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and

world, Looking for that blessed hope,

and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ, Τit. ii. 11-13. Αnd hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments, 1 John ii. 3. •Τhatye may be blamelessandharmless, the sons of God without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world, Phil. ii. 15. Ιn the body of his fleshthrough death, to present you holy, and unblameable, and unreproveable in his sight, Col. i. 22. Τo the end he may stablish our hearts unblameable in holiness fore God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints, 1 Τhess. iii. 13. Τhus were they divided by lot, one sort with another ; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of God, were of the sons of Εleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar. Αnd Shemaiah the son of Νathaniel the scribe, one of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Ζadok the priest, and Αhimelech the son of Αbiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, one principal household being taken for Εleazar, and one taken for Ιthamar.-Τhese were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LonD, according to their manner, under Αaron their father, as the Lo R D God of Israel had commanded them, 1 Chron. xxiv. 1. 4-6. 19. Αnd he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, 2 Chron. viii. 14. Αnd Ηezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burntofferings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents of the
