A D VERTISEMEN T.
HE following discourse was composed
in some hafte, and without any particular attention to the stile ; and it is now published, with the addition of a few Notes, partly in compliance with the request of some who heard it ; and, partly, because it has been misrepresented. The notice which the author has taken of public measures, is such as came necessarily in his way in discussing the subject he had chosen, and in considering the present state of the kingdom. This, however, is the first time in which he has entered into politics in the pulpit, and, perhaps, it may be the last.
