Matt. xviii. 3. Except ye be converted, and become as little Children, ye fhall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

7. The Caule and Means of Repentance and Converfion, God the Caufe; this implied in Prayers made to God for it, and other Expressions, ascribing it to God as his Gift.

Pf. lxxx. 3. Turn us again, O God, and cause thy Face to fhine, and we shall be faved, Ver. 7. 19.

lxxxv. 4. Turn us, O God of our Salvation, and cause thine Anger towards us to cease.

8. Jefus Chrift giveth Repentance. Acts iii. 26. God having raised up his Son Jefus, fent him to blefs you in turning away every one of you from his Iniquities.

v. 31. Him hath God exalted a Prince and a Saviour to give Repen tance to Ifrael, and Forgiveness of Sins.

9. God's Law a Mean of converting Sinners. Pf. xix. 4. The Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the Soul.

Luke xvi. 30. And he faid, nay, Father Abraham; but if one went unto them from the Dead, they will repent.

Ver. 31. If they hear not Mofes and the Prophets, neither will they be perfuaded though one rofe from the Dead.

11. Repentance promifed. Pf. xxii. 27. All the Ends of the World fhall remember and turn to the Lord, Pf. 51. 3.—110. 3.

Ifa. i. 27. Zion shall be redeemed with Judgment, and her Converts with Righteoufnefs.

x. 21. The Remnant fhall return unto the mighty God, Mic. 5. 3. lx. 5. The Abundance of the Sea fhall be converted unto thee, and the Forces of the Gentiles fhall come unto thee, Ch. 55. 7.

Jer. xxiv. 7. They shall return unto me with their whole Heart. Hof. ii. 7. The Church fhall fay, I will return unto my first Husband, xiv. 7. They that dwell under his Shadow fhall return, they shall revive as the Corn, and grow as the Vine.

13. Confiderations needful to Repentance. Deut. iv. 39. Confider in thine Heart, that the Lord he is God in Heaven above, and in the Earth beneath.

1 Sam. xii. 24. Confider how great Things the Lord hath done for thee.

Job xxiii. 15. When I confider him, I am afraid.

Pf. cxix. 95. I will confider thy Teftimonies.
Eccl. vii. 14. In the Day of Adversity confider.

Ifa. xli. 20. Confider, that the Hand of the Lord hath done this.
Ezek. xii. 3. It may be they will confider, though they be a rebelli-

14. The Inconfideration of the Wicked. Deut. xxxii. 29. O that they would confider their latter End.

15. The Cafe of those who withstand the appointed means of Repentance. Matt. xiii. 13. Jefus faid, I fpeak to them in Parables, because they feeing, fee not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they under=ftand.

Ver. 14. And in them is fulfilled the Prophecy of Ifaias, which fayeth, by hearing ye fhall hear and fhall not understand, and feeing ye shall fee, and fhall not perceive. Ifa. 6.9.

Ver. 15. For this People's Heart is waxed grofs, and their Ears are dull of hearing, and their Eyes they have clofed, left at any Time they fhould fee with their Eyes and hear with their Ears, and fhould understand with their Heart, and should be converted and I should heal them. Mark 4. 12. Luke 8. 10. John 12. 40. Acts 28. 26. Rom. 11.8.

17. Mourning for Sin. Exod. xxxiii. 4. When the People heard God's Threatenings against them they mourned.
