57. To rebuke one another, and to hearken to Rebuke. Lev. xix. 17. Thou shalt in any wife rebuke thy Neighbour, and not fuffer Sin upon

Prov. xxviii. 23. He that rebuketh a Man, afterwards fhall find more Favour than he that flattereth with the Tongue, Ch. 27. 5.

Prov. xxiv. 25. To them that rebuke the Wicked shall be delight, and a good Bleffing fhall come upon them.

Mark viii. 33. Jefus rebuked Peter, Luke 23. 4. one Thief rebuked another.

1 Tim. v. 20. Them that fin before all rebuke, that others may fear.

58. Of not giving and receiving Rebuke. Prov. ix. 7. He that reproveth a Scorner getteth to himfelf Shame, and he that rebuketh a wicked Man getteth to himself a Blot.

Ver. 8. Reprove not a Scorner left he hate thee, rebuke a wife Man and he will love thee.

xiii. 1. A Scorner heareth not Rebuke.

Am. v. 10. The Wicked hate him that rebuketh in the Gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.

59. To reprove one another. Pf. cxli. 5. Let the Righteous fmite me, it fhall be a Kindness, and let him reprove me, it shall be an excellent Oil, which fhall not break my Head, Prov. 27. 6

xiii. 18. He that regardeth Reproof shall be honoured.

60. Of not hearkening to Reproof. Prov. x. 17. He is in the Way of Life that keepeth Inftruction, but he that refuseth Reproof erreth.

xii. 1. Whofo loveth Instruction loveth Knowledge, but he that hateth Reproof is brutish.

xviii. 10. Correction is grievous to him that forfaketh the Way, and he that hateth Reproof shall die.

Ver. 12. A Scorner loveth not one that reproveth him, neither will he go unto the Wife.

xxix. 1. He that being often reproved, hardeneth his Neck, fhall fuddenly be destroyed and that without Remedy.

Ifa. xxix. 20. The terrible One is brought to nought, and the Scorner

is confumed, and all they that watch for Iniquity are cut off.

Ver. 21. That make a Man an Offender for a Word, and that lay a Snare for him that reproveth in the Gate, and that turn aside the Juft, for a Thing of Nought.

61. Gentleness. Gal. v. 22. The Fruit of the Spirit is Gentleness, Kindness.

James iii. 17. The Wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, &c.

Kindness.

62. To fhew Kindness commanded. Rom. xii. 10. Be kindly affectioned one to another.

2 Cor. vi. 4. Approving our felves as the Ministers of God.

63. To give Comfort. Job xxix. 25. Job faid, I fat as one that comforteth the Mourners.

Ifa. xl. 1. Comfort ye, comfort ye my People, faith your God.

2 Cor. i. 4 God comforteth us, that we may be able to comfort them that are in Trouble.

ii. 7. Ye ought to forgive and comfort him (the Offender,) left perhaps fuch an one should be fwallowed up of too much Sorrow.

65. Unfaithfulness in Friendship. Job vi 14. To him that is afflicted, Pity should be fhewed from his Friend; but he forfaketh the Fear of the Almighty.

Forbearance.

66. Forbearance. Forbearing to Judge one another on Account of Differences. Ifa. lxv. 2. A rebellious People which walketh in a Way not good, after their own Thoughts.

Ver. 5. Which fay, tland by thyfelf, come not near to me for I am holier than thou: Thefe are a Smoke in my Nose.

Ifa. Ivi. 5. Hear the Word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his Word, your Brethren that hated you, that caft you out, for my Name's fake, faid, let the Lord be glorified; but he hall appear to your Joy, and they fhall be ashamed. Compare. Matt. 1. 11. Luke 6. 22, 23.

Matt. vii. 1. Judge not and ye fhall not be judged. Luke 6.37.John 7.24. Ver. 2. For with what Judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with what Meafure ye mete, it fhall be measured to you again.

Ver. 3. And why beholdeft thou the Mote that is in thy Brother's Eye, but confidereft not the Beam that is in thine own Eye.

Ver. 4. Or how wilt thou fay to thy Brother, let me pull out the Mote out of thine Eye, and behold, a Beam is in thine own Eye?

Ver. 5. Thou Hypocrite, first caft out the Beam out of thine own Eye, and then shalt thou fee clearly to caft out the Mote out of thy Brother's Eye.

John viii. 7. Jefus faid he that is without Sin, among you, let him firft caft a Stone.

Rom. ii. 1. Thou art inexcufable, O Man, whofoever thou art that judgeft, for wherein thou judgeft another thou condemneft thyself, for thou that judgeft doft the fame Things.

Ver. 2. We are fure that the Judgment of God is according to Truth, againf them that commit fuch Things.

Rom. ii. 3. Thinkeft thou, O Man, which judgeft them ́ which do fuch Things, and doft the fame, that thou shalt efcape the Judgment of God?

xiv. 2. One believeth that he may eat all Things, another who is weak eateth Herbs.

Ver. 3. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not, and let not him which eateth not, judge him that eateth.

Ver. 4. Who art thou that judgest another Man's Servant, to his own Mafter he ftandeth or falleth?

Ver. 5. One Man efteemeth one Day above another, another esteemeth every Day alike, let every Man be fully perfuaded in his own Mind. Ver. 10. Why doft thou judge thy Brother? or why doft thou fet at nought thy Brother? for we shall all ftand before the Judgment Seat of Chrift.

Ver. 12. Every one of us shall give an Account of himself to God. Ver. 13. Let us not therefore judge one another any more, Gal. 6. 5. Every Man fhall bear his own Burden.

Cor. iv. 5. Judge Nothing before the time un til the Lord come.
