Malice.

14. Malice forbidden to the Righteous. 1 Cor. v. 8. Let us keep the Feaft, not with the old Leaven, neither with the leaven of Malice and Wickedness, but with the unleavened Bread of Sincerity and Truth.

xiv. 20. In Malice be ye Children, but in Understanding be ye Men. Eph. iv. 31. Let all Bitterness and Wrath, and Anger, and Clamour, and evil Speaking be put away from you, with all Malice.

Anger.

16. Anger forbidden. Pf. xxxvii. 8. Cease from Anger, and forfake Wrath, fret not thyself in any wife to do Evil.

Prov, xiv. 17. He that is foon angry dealeth foolishly, and a Man of wicked Devices is hated.

xv. 1. A soft Answer turneth away Wrath, but grievous Words ftir up Anger.

Ver. 18. A wrathful Man ftirreth up Strife, but he that is flow to Anger appeaseth Strife.

xvi. 32. He that is flow to Anger, is better than the Mighty, and he that ruleth his Spirit, than he that taketh a City.

xix. 11. The Discretion of a Man deferreth his Anger, and it is his Glory to pass over a Tranfgreffion. Ch. 14. 29.

17. Inflances of the Anger of the righteous against Sin. Gen. xxx. 1. Rachel envy'd her Sister and faid unto Jacob, give me Children or elfe I die.

Ver. 2. And Jacob's Anger was kindled against Rachel.

Exod. xi. 8. Moles went out from Pharaoh in great Anger.

xxxii. 19. When Mofes faw the golden Calf, and the Ifraelites dancing before it, his Anger was kindled.

Mark iii. 5. Jefus looked on them with Anger being grieved for the hardness of their Hearts, he faith, &c.

18. Sinful Anger, Inftances of it. Gen. ix. 5. Simeon and Levi are Brethren, Inftruments of Cruelty are in their Habitations.

John vii. 23. Are ye (faid Chrift) angry at me, because I have made a Man whole on the Sabbath Day. Rev. 11. 8.

Wrath.

19. Wrath. Pf. lxxvi. 10. The Remainder of Wrath fhalt thou reftrain.

Prov. v. 2. Wrath flayeth the foolish Man.

xii. 16. A Fool's wrath is presently known, but a prudent Man covereth Shame.

xiv. 29. He that is flow to Wrath is of great Understanding, but he that is hafty of Spirit exalteth Folly.

xix. 19. A Man of great Wrath fhall fuffer Punishment.

xxi. 24. Proud and haughty Scorner is his Name that dealeth in proud Wrath.

xxvii. 3. A Stone is heavy, and the Sand is weighty, but a Fool's Wrath is heavier than them both. Ver. 4.

Contention.

20. Contention forbidden. Prov. xiii. 10. Only by Pride cometh Contention, but with the well-advised is Wisdom.

Prov. xvii. 14. The Beginning of Strife is as when one letteth out Water, therefore leave off Contention before it be meddled with. xviii. 6. A Fool's Lips enter into Contention, and his Mouth calleth for Strokes.

Ver. 19. A Brother is harder to be won, than a firong City, and their Contentions are like the Bars of a Castle.

xxii. 10. Cast out the Scorner and Contention fhall go out, yea Strife and Reproach fhall cease.

`xxiii. 29. Who hath Wo? who hath Sorrow? who hath Contentions? who hath Babblings? who hath Wounds without Caufe? who hath redness of Eyes?

Ver. 30. They that tarry long at the Wine.

xxvi. 21. As Coals are to burning Coals, and Wood to Fire, fo is a contentious Man to kindle Strife.

xxix. 9. If a wife Man contend with a foolish Man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no Reft.

Hab. i. 3. There are that raise up Strife and Contention.

Rom. ii. 8. Unto them that are Contentious and obey not the Truth, but obey Unrighteoufnefs, God will render Indignation and Wrath.

xi. 16. If any Man feems to be contentious, we have no fuch Cuftom, neither the Churches of God.

21. Promifes and Prayers against Contention. Ifa. xli. 12 Thou shalt not find them that contended with thee; they that war against thee fhall be as Nothing.

xlix. 25. I will contend with them that contend with thee.

22. The righteous contend only against Sin. Prov. xxviii. 4. Such as keep. the Law contend with the Wicked.

Neh. xiii. 11. I contended with the Rulers and faid, why is the Houfe of God forfaken ?

Peace.

Peace from God our Father, and the

xv. 13. The God of Hope fill you with Joy and Peace in believing. Gal. vi. 16. As many as walk according to this Rule, Peace be upon them, and Mercy, and upon the Ifrael of God.

Eph. vi. 23. Peace be to the Brethren, and Love with Faith from God the Father, and the Lord Jefus Chrift.

Phil. iv. 6. In every thing by Prayer and Supplication with Thankfgiving let your Requests be made known unto God.

Ver. 7. And the Peace of God which paffeth all Understanding fhall keep your Hearts and Minds through Jefus Chrift.

2 Theff. iii. 16. Now the Lord of Peace himself give you Peace always, by all means, the Lord be with you all.

í Pet. i. 2. Grace to you, and Peace be multiplied. Ver. 3. John 5. 14.

v. 14. Peace be with all that are in Chrift Jefus, Amen.

Rev. i. 4. Grace be unto you, and Peace from him which is, and which was, and which is to come, and from the feven Spirits which are before the Throne.

26. Peace the gift of God, Promiles and Inftances thereof. Lev. xxvi. 36. If ye will walk in my Statutes, I will give Peace in your Land. Ifa. 48. 18.

2 Kings xx. 19. Hezekiah faid unto Ifaiah, good is the Word of the Lord, which thou haft spoken, and he said, is it not good if Peace and Truth be in my Days?

1 Chr. xxii. 9. The Lord faid, I will give Peace and Quietness unto Ifrael in Solomon's Days.

Job v. 23. The Beafts of the Field fhall be at Peace with thee.

Ver. 24. Thou shalt know that thy Tabernacle shall be in Peace. Pf. xxxvii. 11. The Meek fhall inherit the Earth, and fhall delight themselves in Abundance of Peace.

lv. 18. He hath delivered my Soul in Peace from Battle that was against me.

Prov. xvi. 17. When a Man's Ways please the Lord, he maketh his Enemies to be at peace with him.

Ifa. xlv. 7. I form Light, and I create Darkness, I make Peace, and I create Evil, I the Lord do all these things. Ch. 57. 19.

27. Peace with God is the blessed Reward of the righteous or good Man. Job xxii. 21. Acquaint now thyfelf with God, and be at Peace. xxxvii. 17. Mark the perfect Man, and behold the Upright, for the End of that Man is Peace.

Pf. cxix. 165. Great Peace have they that love thy Law.

Prov. iii. 17. Wisdom's ways are Ways of Pleasantness, and all her Paths are Peace.

xxvi. 3. Thou wilt keep him in perfect Peace, whose Mind is stayed on thee, because he trufteth in thee.

Ifa. xxvii. 5. Let him take hold of my Strength that he may make Peace with me, and he fhall make Peace with me.

xxxii. 17. The Work of Righteousness shall be Peace, and the Effect of Righteoufnefs, Quietnefs, and Affurance for ever.

Ivii. 2. He fhall enter into Peace, they fhall reft in their Beds each one walking in his Uprightness.

Rom. ii. 10. Glory, Honour, and Peace to every one that worketh Good.

viii. 6. To be spiritually minded is Life and Peace.
