John xiii. 34. A new Commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another, as I have loved you; that ye love one another, Ch. 15. 12.

Ver. 35. By this fhall all Men know that ye are my Difciples, if ye have love one to another.

Rom, xii. 9. Let Love be without Diffimulation.

xiii. 8. Owe no Man any Thing, but to love one another, he that loveth another, hath fulfilled the Law.

Ver. 10. Love worketh no Ill to his Neighbour, therefore Love is the fulfilling of the Law.

Gal. v. 14. All the Law is fulfilled in one Word, even in this, thou fhalt love thy Neighbour as thy felt, Ver. 15.

Ver. 21. And this Commandment had we from God, that he who loveth God, love his Brother also.

2 John 5. That Commandment we have from the Beginning that we love one another.

2. Of the Caufe of Love, and how it is produced, Prov. xvii. 9. He that covereth a Tranfgreffion feeketh Love.

xviii. 24. A Man that hath Friends muft fhew himself friendly, and there is a Friend that fticketh clofer than a Brother.

Charity.

5. Charity with other Graces enjoined. 1 Cor. viii. 1. Knowledge puffeth up, but Charity edifieth.

xiii. 1. Though I speak with the Tongues of Men, and of Angels, and have not Charity, I am become as founding Brafs, or a tinkling Cymbal.

Ver. 2. And though I have the Gift of Prophecy, and understand all Mysteries, and all Knowledge, and though I have all Faith, fo that I could remove Mountains, and have not Charity, I am Nothing.

Ver. 3. And though I beftow all my Goods to feed the Poor, and though I give my Body to be burned, and have not Charity, it profiteth me Nothing.

Ver. 4. Charity fuffereth long and is kind, Charity envieth not, Charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up;

Ver. 5. Doth not behave itself unfeemly, feeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no Evil.

Ver. 6. Rejoiceth not in Iniquity, but rejoiceth in the Truth. Ver. 7. Beareth all Things, believeth all Things, hopeth all Things, endureth all Things.

1 Cor. xiii. 8. Charity never faileth.

Ver. 13. Now abideth Faith, Hope, Charity, thefe three, but the greatest of these is Charity.

xiv. 1. Follow after Charity, and defire spiritual Gifts.

2 Tim. iii. 10. Thou haft fully known my Doctrine, manner of Life, Purpose, Faith, Long-fuffering, Charity, Patience, Perfecutions, Afflictions, &c.

Hatred.

7. Hatred, Threatnings against it. Lev. xix. 17. Thou shalt not hate thy Brother in thine Heart.

Prov. xxix. 10. The Blood-thirsty hate the Upright.

Envy.

11. Envy forbidden to the Righteous. Prov. xxiii. 17. Let not thine Heart envy Sinners, but be thou in the Fear of the Lord, all the Day long.

xxiv. 1. Be not thou envious against evil Men, neither defire to be with them, Ver. 19.

Pf. xxxvii. 1. Fret not thyself because of evil Doers, neither be thou envious against the Workers of Iniquity.

Rom. 13. 13. Let us walk honeftly, not in Strife and Envying. 2 Cor. xii. 20. I fear left there be envying amongst you.
