Difobedience.

68. Threats against the Dilabedient. Deut. xxviii. 15. If thou wilt not hearken unto the Voice of the Lord thy God, to obferve and to do all his Commandments and his Statutes, all thefe Curfes fhall come upon thee and overtake thee.

Ver. 16. Curfed fhalt thou be in the City, and curfed shalt thou be in

the Field.

Ver. 17. Curfed fhall be thy Basket and thy Store.

Ver. 18. Curfed thall be the Fruit of thy Body, and the Fruit of thy Land, and the Increase of thy Kine and the Flocks of thy Sheep. Ver. 19. Curfed fhalt thou be when thou comeft in, and curfed fhalt thou be when thou goest out.

Ver. 20. The Lord fhall fend upon thee Curfing, Vexation, and Rebuke, in all that thou fetteft thine Hand unto for to do, until thou

be deftroyed, and until thou perish quickly, becaufe of the Wickedness of thy Doings, whereby thou haft forlaken me. Obedience to Chrift.

69. Obedience to Chrift's Command. Matt. xxviii. 19. Go ye and teach all Nations, Ver. 20. to obferve all Things whatsoever I have commanded you, and lo I am with you always unto the End of the World.

John xiv. 15. If ye love me keep my Commandments, Ver. 21. 23. Ver. 24. He that loveth me not keepeth not my Sayings.

70. Promiles to them that obey Chrift. Matt. vii. 24. Whofoever heareth thefe Sayings of mine and doth them, I will liken him unto a wife Man which built his Houfe upon a Rock:

Works.

73. God will render to Mankind according to their Works, good or bad. Job xxxiv. 10. Far be it from God that he should do Wickedness. Ver. 11. For the Work of a Man will he render unto him, and caufe every Man to find according to his Work.

Pf. lxii. 12. The Lord rendereth unto every Man according to his Work.

Eccl. xii. 4. God will bring every Man's Work into Judgment, 1 Cor. 13. 3. Every Man's Work fhall be made manifest.

Ifa. iii. 10. Say ye to the Righteous that it shall be well with them, for they fhall eat the Fruit of their Doings.

Ifa. iii. 11. Wo unto the Wicked, it fhall be ill with him, for the Reward of his Hands fhall be given him.

Jer. xvii. 10. I the Lord fearch the Heart and try the Reins, even to give every Man according to his Ways, and according to the Fruit of his Doings, Prov. 24. 12.

xxxii. 19. Thine Eyes are upon all the Ways of the Sons of Men, to give every one according to his Ways, and according to the Fruit of his Doings.

Matt. xvi. 27. The Son of Man fhall come in his Glory with his Angels, and then shall he reward every Man according to his Works.

Rom. ii. 6. God will render to every Man according to his Works. 2 Cor. v. 10. We muft all appear before the Judgment-Seat of Christ ; that every one may receive the Things done in his Body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Gal. vi. 7. Whatsoever a Man foweth, that shall he also reap. Eph. vi. 8. Whatsoever good things any Man doth, the fame fhall he receive of the Lord.

1 Pet. i. 17. God without refpect of Perfons judgeth according to every Man's Work.

Rev. ii. 23. All the Churches fhall know that I am he which fearcheth the Reins and Hearts, and I will give unto every one of you according unto your Works.

Rev. xx. 12. I saw the Dead small and great stand before God, and the Books were opened, and another Book was opened which is the Book of Life, and the Dead were judged out of those things which were written in the Books according to their Works.

xxii. 12. Behold I come quickly and my Reward is with me, to give every Man according as his Works fhall be. See this reward prayed for, against the Wicked, Neh. 6. 14. Pf. 28. 4. 2 Tim. 4. 14. Threatned against the Wicked, Jer. 21. 14.-25. 14. Ezek. 7. 27. —24.14. Mic. 7. 13. 2 Cor. 11. 15.

74. Good Works commanded. Matt. v. 16. Let your Light fo fhine before Men, that they may fee your good Works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven, 1 Pet. 2. 12. 15.

Col. i. 10. Walk worthy of the Lord, unto all pleafing, being fruitful in every good Work, John 15. 8. Herein, faith Chrift, is my Father glorified, that ye bear much Fruit, fo fhall ye be my Disciples.

1 Tim. ii. 8. I will that Women adorn themselves with good Works.

v. 10. Let a Widow be taken into the Number, having followed every good Work.

2 Tim. ii. 21. If a Man purge himself from these Sins, he fhall be a Veffel fanctified unto Honour, and meet for the Mafter's Ufe, and prepared unto every good Work.

Tit, ii. 7. In all Things fhewing thy felf a Pattern of good Works. iii. 1. Put them in Mind to be ready to every good Work. Ver. 8. These Things I will that thou affirm conftantly, that they who have believed in God, might be careful to maintain good Works, thefe Things are good and profitable unto Men.

Ver. 14. Let ours alfo learn to maintain good Works for neceffary Ufes.

Heb. x. 24. Let us confider one another, to provoke unto Love and to good Works. See Jam. 3. 13.

75. Ability for performing good Works, promifed, Ifa. xxvi. 21. Lord, thou wilt ordain Peace for us, for thou haft wrought all our Works 2 Cor. 5. 5.

lxi. 8. I will direct their Work in truth, faith the Lord.

2 Cor. ix. 8. God is able to make all Grace abound toward you, that ye always having all Sufficiency in all Things may abound to every good Work.

Eph ii. 10. We are God's Workmanship created in Chrift Jefus into good Works, which God hath before ordained that we fhould walk in them.

iii. 20. His Power worketh in us. Eph. 1. 19.

Phil. i. 6. He that hath begun a good Work in you, will perform it until the Day of Chrift.

Phil. ii. 12. Work out your Salvation with Fear and Trembling, for it is God that worketh in you, both to will and to do of his good Pleafure.

2 Theff. ii. 17. Our Lord Jefus Chrift, and God even our Father, comfort your Hearts, and stablish you in every good Word and Work. 2 Tim. iii. 16. The Scripture is profitable for Doctrine, for Reproof, for Correction and Instruction in Righteoufness.

Ver. 17. That the Man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good Works.

2 Tim. iv. 18. The Lord will deliver me from every evil Work, and preferve me to his heavenly Kingdom.

Tit. ii. 14. Chrift gave himfelf for us that he might redeem us from all Iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar People zealous of good Works.

Heb. ix. 14. The Blood of Chrift fhall purge your. Confcience from dead Works to ferve the living God.

xiii. 20. Now the God of Peace that brought again from the dead our Lord Jefus Chrift, that great Shepherd of the Sheep through the Blood of the everlasting Covenant;

Ver. 21. Make you perfect in every good Work to do his Will, working in you, that which is well-pleafing in his Sight, through Jefus Chrift, to whom be Glory, for ever and ever. Amen. See Ability for Obedience. Alfo fee, God doth ftrengthen, lead, Guide, &c.

76. Promifes to the Performance of good Works. Heb. vi. 10. God is not unrighteous to forget your Work and Labour of Love. Rom. ii. 10. Glory, Honour and Peace to every one that worketh Good.

Gal. vi. 4. Let every Man prove his own Work, and then fhall be have rejoicing in himself, and not in another.

James i. 25. A Doer of the Work fhall be blefed in his Deed.

ii. 17. Faith without Works is dead. See this Ch. from Ver. 14to 24.
