Rom. iv. 5. And Hope maketh not ashamed.

viii. 24. We are faved by Hope, but Hope that is feen is not Hope, for what a Man feeth why doth he yet hope for?

Ver. 25. If we hope for that we fee not, then do we with Patience wait for it.

122. The Hope of the Wicked. Job viii. 13. The Hypocrite's Hope fhall perish, Ver. 14.

xi. 20. The Eyes of the Wicked shall fail, their Hope fhall be as the giving up of the Ghoft.

xxvii. 8. What is the Hope of the Hypocrite, when God taketh away his Soul?

Expectation.

123. The Expectation of the Righteous from God. Pf. Ixii. 5. My Expectation is from the Lord,

Prov. xxiii. 18. Thine Expectation shall not be cut off, Ch. 24. 14. Phil. i. 20. According to my earnest Expectation Chrift shall be magnified in my Body, whether it be by Life or by Death.

124. Expectation of the Wicked. Prov. x. 28. The Expectation of the Wicked shall perish, Ch. 11. 7.

125. The Righteous wait for God. Gen. xlix. 18. I have waited for thy Salvation, O Lord.

Jer. xiv. 22. Are there any among the Vanities of the Gentiles that can cause Rain, or can the Heavens give Showers? art not thou he, O Lord our God? therefore we will wait upon thee, for thou haft made all these Things.

Lam. iii. 25. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the Soul that feeketh him.

Ver. 26, It is good that a Man should both hope and quietly wait for the Salvation of the Lord.

xii. 36. Be ye

like Men that wait for the coming of their Lord. Rom. viii. 23. We groan within ourselves, waiting for the Adoption, to wit, the Redemption of our Body.

1 Cor. i. 5.7. In every Thing ye are enriched: So that ye come behind in no Gift, waiting for the coming of our Lord Jefus Chrift. Gal. v. 5. We through the Spirit wait for the Hope of Righteoufnefs by Faith.

126. The Wicked wait not for God. 2 Kings vi. 33. Behold this Evil is of the Lord, what fhould I wait for the Lord any longer?

129. Trufting in God and Chrift. 2 Sam. xxii. 2. David faid, the Lord is my Rock and my Fortrefs, and my Deliverer.

Ver. 3. The God of my Rock in him will I truft, he is my Shield and the Horn of my Salvation, my high Tower and my Refuge, my Saviour, thou faveft me from Violence. Pf. 18. 2.—144. 1. 2.

Ver. 31. The Lord is a Buckler to all that trust in him.
