58 DEDHAM C. M.

William Gardiner, 1812

I Come, let us join our cheerful songs With

angels round the throne;

Ten thou-sand thou-sand are their tongues, But all their joys are one.

AMEN.

2 "Worthy the Lamb that died," they 4
"To be exalted thus:" [cry,
"Worthy the Lamb," our lips reply,
"For He was slain for us.

3 Jesus is worthy to receive

Honor and power Divine;
And blessings, more than we can give,
Be, Lord, for ever Thine.

Let all that dwell above the sky,
And air, and earth, and seas,
Conspire to lift Thy glories high,
And speak Thine endless praise.
5 The whole creation join in one,
To bless the sacred Name
Of Him that sits upon the throne,
And to adore the Lamb.

59 (DEDHAM or ST. LEONARD) C. M.

I O FOR a thousand tongues to sing
My dear Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace.

Rev. Isaac Watts, 1707

3 Jesus, the Name that charms our fears,
That bids our sorrows cease;

'Tis music in the sinner's ears,
'Tis life, and health, and peace.

2 My gracious Master and my God, 4 He breaks the power of reigning sin,

Assist me to proclaim,

To spread through all the earth abroad,
The honors of Thy Name.

He sets the prisoner free;

His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me.

5 He speaks, and, listening to His voice,
New life the dead receive;

The mournful, broken hearts rejoice;
The humble poor believe.

2 Nearer, ever nearer,
Christ, we draw to Thee,

Deep in adoration

Bending low the knee: Thou for our redemption Cam'st on earth to die; Thou, that we might follow, Hast gone up on high.

3 Great and ever greater
Are Thy mercies here;
True and everlasting

Are the glories there,
Where no pain nor sorrow,
Toil nor care is known,
Where the angel-legions

Circle round Thy throne.

4 Brighter still and brighter Glows the western sun, Shedding all its gladness

O'er our work that's done :

Time will soon be over,
Toil and sorrow past,
May we, blessed Saviour,
Find a rest at last.

5 Onward, ever onward,

Journeying o'er the road
Worn by saints before us,
Journeying on to God;
Leaving all behind us,
May we hasten on,
Backward never looking

Till the prize is won.

6 Higher, then, and higher,
Bear the ransomed soul,
Earthly toils forgetting,
Saviour, to its goal;
Where in joys unthought of
Saints with angels sing,
Never weary, raising
Praises to their King.

2 I'd sing the precious blood He spilt, 4 Well, the delightful day will come

My ransom from the dreadful guilt

Of sin, and wrath Divine: I'd sing His glorious righteousness, In which all-perfect, heavenly dress My soul shall ever shine.

All glory and power, and wisdom and might,
All honor and blessing, with angels above,
And thanks never ceasing, and infinite love.
